Re: 2013 NHL Season

Goodness grief, Espn1500 Twin Cities radio just announced that Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom got hurt in pre-game warm-ups and is out for game 1. Backup Josh Harding has played sparingly this year due to multiple sclerosis.

Also Jason Pominville is out due to a concussion.

Wow! Hawks/Wild going into OT tied at 1-1.

Win or lose, you gotta give the Wild credit for this effort playing under adverse conditions.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Eh. Going into the playoffs with a 7-2 loss isn't a good thing. Regardless of excuses. Aside from their 94' Stanley cup run the franchise couldn't get a decent logo let alone win a championship.

Again, that game didn't mean anything. When you sit your top guys you don't expect to make an impact. They were also giving more minutes to younger guys and their fringe players to see how they look. Point is, it won't effect things. If they were playing for something and had their best guys out there, I may see your point. I just can't under these circumstances. Again, I don't favour either team more than the other. So it's not to piss in your corn flakes. You just made a very strong, bold, and ugly comment concerning a team, that I felt had some inaccuracies is all. Yeah, they got blown out of the water. That's fact, but most teams take it easy knowing the position they were in wasn't going to change who they faced, and the fact they had to save themselves for their biggest opponent... San Jose in Round 1.

Yeah, my love for the team has dissolved since Winnipeg is no longer affiliated with them and we have our own NHL franchise. I only cared about them once upon a time, because half of their team was my former city's AHL team. But **** it, we have the NHL now! :)

Pens or bust! And I am excited for Edmonton's future. Now turn that potential into realized potential!

And the Hawks win.

Great showing by the Wild though. I believe goalie Josh Harding hasn't played all year due to getting his meds fine tuned. He came back last week. Really unbelievable effort by him.

EDIT: Check that, he played in 5 games.

Very promising for a team that, as you had pointed out, was written off due to the adverse factors. Going up against a team with one of the best winning percentages of all time (albiet in a 48 game season), and with the injuries that have been mounting. It shows that this may not be a cake walk for Chicago after all.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

The Pittsburgh Penguins vs the New York Islanders is going to be an exciting series. I don't care if you're a fan of either team, with the talent, speed, and names both teams have, it should make for one fun series. Maybe not to the level of the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia series of yesteryear, but I expect the scoring in the games to be high and for some heat between both sides. Lest we forget what happened a few years ago? Blood on the ice, goalies going at it, and penalties in the record numbers.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Great games tonight- the Blues OT goal was hysterical... poor Quick! :lol

Tough loss for the Wild too but they can bounce back. I thought they played a good game.

Leafs tomorrow! Can't ****ing wait!!!!! :panic:

Best goddamn time of the year, playoffs baby! :rock

Re: 2013 NHL Season

All of Quick's goodwill from last year immediately went out the window. It sucks for him that the game ended like that. But on the bright side, he was fantastic, and definitely got rid of the question of which Quick would show up for the playoffs.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Too bad Crosby isn't playing tonight... I feel bad for the guy- he's got straight chiclets for teeth now.
