Roy was better

Where am I "so high" on the Caps right now? I am glad the forced game 7, but they damn well better win it or it was a worthless comeback like last years. When they lose and play down I am not going to sugar coat it and be a mindless cheerleader. When they deserve to be dresssed down I'll do it. When they play the way they can I am happy about it. If the Caps play hard and still lose so be it. They tried, but the games they lost in this series, they slept through them until trying a mad rush at the end which pisses me off.

Roy was better indeed, you can say all you want about Roy it doesn't change the fact that he was a winner and an innovator to the game of hockey. The same way Wayne was in the 80's and 90's.

Patrick Roy is the all time best goaltender to play the game, imo of course. IMO if an idividual can impact a game so much that the game itself changes he or she is then a legend and top amongst all athletes in there respective sport.

Patrick won his team a Stanley cup in his rookie season and NEVER looked back. Winning as a young man is one thing but winning consistenly while changing the stlye of the game is legendary.

Tell me, how many of todays young tenders DON'T use the butterfly technique? And don't tell me Roy didn't invent that cuz he did!

Now having said all of that I would rank Brodeur as the 2nd best goaltender to ever play the game.

Love all the Crosby bandwagoners :lol

Uh...I grew up in Pittsburgh and I hate the Flyers. Why do I have to check my credentials with you to be happy when two great things happened at once, IMO?

Well said. You shouldn't have to defend why you support your favorite players and/or hockey teams. Besides, he's the worst kind of fan. Boo and hissss his team for not playing well and pretending like nothing happened the next game they win.

A Katy Perry song comes to mind.

Oh man, she's oh so hot. Those eyes. Those legs. :drool

In Kit's defence, I have ^^^^^ed about my team's misfortunes in the past. But I always kept the faith. I always know there is brighter days ahead.

I hope.

Fisto, give us Alexander Semin. You can have Jordan Staal.

Good deal. You get a potential high profile centerman that should be in the NHL for atleast half a decade longer than Semin. We get a high profile winger that can play on Evgeni Malkin's left wing. A Russian winger for Malkin would be beautiful. They speak the same dialect. They will understand each other perfectly. Plays will go on seemingly, and we get rid of that blasted Ruslan Fedotenko.

We already have Sidney Crosby and Malkin. Why waste Staal on the third line and stunt his growth as a top two line centerman?

Tell the Caps to get on it. Oh, and in a few years we could use Mike Green. We need another offensive stud from the Capital's blueline. Gonch as good as he is, isn't going to be around forever.

nobodys takin green from us. especially not you canucks!

I like Staal, but Id let him go for Semin

I hope Torts and Schoenfeld, get into it with the fans tomorrow once they are losing.

If I let staal go it (and I wouldn't) would be for someone more durable then semin. Last season he'd tweak his groin if he tied his skates too tight :horror Way to injury prone for my liking :sick

But his skill-set is out of this world and he can kick players ***** by donkey konging them into submission!

Either way, you don't take a guy second overall so you can use him as your third line centerman.

Exactly, its a shame, cuz hes a great role player, but did you see the guys that went after him, scary to think they could have been Pens

Lets be honest guys. For the most part any draft in any league is a crapshoot.

Who could have honestly predicted Mark Streit would have been such a smart pick for Montreal when they took him at age 27. How many guys get taken in drafts that actually pan out and become something credible? Albeit it was a late pick with Streit, but very seldom do players of that age receive any attention from the draft.

Going back to Jordan Staal. While I do think he was taken too early in the draft, and probably brought up too quickly... Another season in the OHL dominating that league, and refining his offensive game would have done wonders to his game. Granted he did score 29 goals as a 18-year-old NHLer. Followed by the dreaded sophomore slump. But that's just it! He's only 20 right now. We're too quick to judge whether or not he was a good or bad pick. I do think he has the potential to be a superstar in this league, but not with the Penguins. Not as long as No. 87 and No. 71 are ahead of him in the depth department. He needs a change of scenery IMO so he can get the most out of his game and the Pens can stock up on what they need even more... capable scoring wingers.

Billy Guerin won't be around forever, and neither will Petr Sykora. That, and Petr has been showing wear and tear. So that really leaves us with Chris Kunitz, and the premise that as long as Luca Caputi becomes a big budding powerforward, we should have another solid top-six winger in the books. Time will dictate what happens there. Also, it doesn't help that Eric Tangradi has a hand injury that some have murmured words as "career-ending." He's our other big prospect on the wing.

Long story short (too late maybe?), the Penguins need more scoring wingers for Sid and Geno! Trade Staal and get us a good young winger with lots of upside. :)

btw Kit, you may think Semin is much better than Staal right now, but 4 years seperate them, and that's a big difference. Who knows how good Jordan will be at Semin's age now, 24. That, and he's more durable. So maybe we should go after someone else.

mmmm Ilya Kovalchuk. What?! A guy can dream, right? RIGHT?!

I never noticed this until now, but in the Blackhawks logo you can see ball sacks. Okay, now I just spotted a wang.

Hope the Hawks take out those miserable Canucks. Wings / conference final would be sick
