Man, most Canadians in general can't stand the frenchie frogs, i got swore at when i was there for wearing a Leafs Mogilny jersey and this POS french guy was getting on the elevator at the best western europa we were staying in(next to the Bell center) and he gives the finger and closes the door on us, its not a friendly town at all i think, glad the Leafs whooped their ass that night 4-1.

I think i recall philly fans booing the Canadian anthem in a past series between them and Toronto, the year one of the hooligans jumped the glass on top of Tie Domi in the penalty box..them damn philly fans are like urban rednecks.

:horror Dude that is kinda uncalled for imo. You can't assume that every and any French Canadian will boo the American anthem and give you the finger over wearing a Leafs jersey. You just think that way these days.

Everyone loves a baby. :lol

When supposed babies (so not getting old btw) wins games for your team of course you love them. He scored us the game-tying goal and then sealed the deal for us and cashed in on the 5th goal in the Flyers game lastnight.

But I guess there is nothing with an overly cocky demeanor either. Lets get over the poke and jabs of these superstars and enjoy them for the super talents they are. :)

Many Canadians loves to tease French Canada. Much like a lot of America teases the deep south. Having said that, deep down we love them. They are amongst us. They are our idols, family members, friends, and girlfriend. Well, it is the case with me.

Heck, my friend is French and he calls them frogs. Some peole are way too over sensitive. Hey, I am a cracker. Oh no! Sound the bells... something bad just happened. He called himself a cracker. Oh dear lord! WHY?! THE HUMANITY!

Seriously, sticks and stones may break my bones but names won't hurt me. Unless you call me an Albertan, then my feelings are truly hurt! :monkey2

Not all French people are bad. Not all of them want to separate. Not all Habs fans boo the American anthem... granted more do in their building than any other in the NHL. So I concur.
Seriously though, lets stick to the topic... HOCKEY!

VOUS AIMEZ PAS LES CANADIENS FRANCAIS ?????? MANGER DONC TOUS DE LA MERDE, BANDE DE TROU DU CUL.ET ON VA CONTINUER A HUER VOS HYMNES NATIONALE !!!! VIVRE LE QUÉBEC LIBRE !!!!

You guys critisizing the french hockey fans obviously dont know shat...Its funny cause, french Canadian are probably the greatest hockey fans in the world...Americans have like 7000 fans in attendance by game at $15 a ticket...All year long ticket here are over $100 for a game with 20 000 + fans in attendance...The bell center is sold out every night the Habs plays...People here feel that they deserve to have one of the greatest team in the league if not the greatest. But when the organisation is run by a bunch of incompetent in it for the $$$ and players connected to local mafia, we fans deserve the right to boo for whoever we want. ...The habs have a 100 year history that transcend this sport...There is nothing more important than hockey in this province.

Yes, french Canadian fans (and particulary people from Montreal) are exhuberant, have no class, talk loud and have no respect...But our french roots and french criminal and prostitutes ancestors are to blame for this.....lolllllll...We are a proud people and sometimes feel very alone on this English continent...Our fans are passionate and like some europeans soccer teams we got some crazy hooligans but thats part of the passion.

But a lot of us want to.

Are you a separatist? I wouldn't call Montrealers the greatest fans. You should NEVER boo your own players. It doesn't help the situation. That's why even Canadien players have expressed their disappointment and unhappiness towards the fans negative jeering of late.

I actually have been to Quebec (for a friend's wedding) and many of them want to be a part of Canada.

Anyway, lets move on. Politics and religion just gets people into fits of rage. I should have never brought up the booing. Just didn't like how Price or the Habs were treated.

I did think it was funny when Price raised his hands to acknowledge the mock cheer :lol

Meh, Roy's a prick. Price, I like.

Brodeur >>> Roy

Stats only junkie huh? Marty is great, but I'd take Roy if I needed to win 1 goame in the playoffs. Marty has had the best defensive team in the world in front of him for most of his playing time.

Also, Roy is a prick and Marty isn't? Yeah, screwing your sister in law makes him a real class act.

Not a stats only junkie. Although stats do tell a great deal about a player. I love me some stats, but I am also an observer, player, and a collector. I have seen Martin Brodeur play more times than any other player outside Mario Lemieux. I have followed him closely since 1999 when I picked him up in my keeper fantasy league. When you assume, you make an ASS out of U... and well... YOU!

:)

Patrick Roy didn't have good defence in Montreal and Colorado? Please. That's lame.

Brodeur was a product of great D? 07/08 he played in front a very poor defence, yet still played some of his best hockey capturing his fourth Vezina. The guy is the most durable goalie ever. He's the only goalie to play in 11 seasons of 70 or more starts. He's insane. It was a shock to the hockey world that he actually sustained a near season ending injury since he has been one of the most durable players in the game... EVER!

He handles the puck better than any goaltender I have seen, and I have seen some of the best in that respect. Ron Hextall comes to mind. I saw him a lot, and once in person. I would say Marty was a smidge better. But not by much. Brodeur is one of the most relaxed, reserved, and classiest players in the game, so that is another surprise when he flipped out in the Canes series.

Either way you count it, Brodeur has had no Scott Stevens, no Scott Niedermayer, no Ken Daneyko, and no Brian Rafalski, yet he's still putting up Vezina numbers.

07/08 was a great testiment to the value that Brodeur had to that Devils team. If anything it showed New Jersey was a product of great goaltending. He stole so many games for them. They weren't even the team this year which saw their offensive game upped and their team discipline and defensive system improve vastly. 07/08 was a year the Devils wouldn't have made the playoffs if it wasn't for Marty's brilliant goaltending.

Ask anyone who the best goalie of all-time. More often than not, people will say it's Marty. btw You also want a model of consistency. Look again to Brodeur. How many 40 win seasons has he had? I am not one to ignore the team in front of him, but you can't dispute his greatness.

You also can't ignore the great teams that Patrick Roy played for as well.

If any goalie deserves a "C" it's Brodeur. He's the true leader of that team.

Stats aren't everything. That's why my all-time favorite dman is Vladimir Konstantinov. Read up on one of the many posts I made of this guy. One is in this thread. It explains why I loved his game. He wasn't a big scoring guy. So quit assuming guy and play again.

I also love Rick Rypien, Guillaume Desbiens, and P.C. Labrie. Probably haven't heard of those guys and may never. They bring a lot of excitement and passion to the games. They are great hitters, fighters, skaters, and can change the tempo of a game on a dime.

Roy was better.

Caps win 5-3!

game 7 here we come.

C-A-P-S CAPS CAPS CAPS!!!!

Caps should have won 5-1. The refs blew goat balls in the 3rd calling EVERYTHING on the Caps trying to get the Rags back in the game. Two 5 on 3's on WEAK calls!! Rags had 8 PP's to the Caps 2. Game 7 better not be called that way.

Roy was better

Where am I "so high" on the Caps right now? I am glad the forced game 7, but they damn well better win it or it was a worthless comeback like last years. When they lose and play down I am not going to sugar coat it and be a mindless cheerleader. When they deserve to be dresssed down I'll do it. When they play the way they can I am happy about it. If the Caps play hard and still lose so be it. They tried, but the games they lost in this series, they slept through them until trying a mad rush at the end which pisses me off.

What a sick comenback by the Pens, I noticed the Philly fans have gone silent :)
Mad props to Max Talbot, those Nancies on the Habs should take notes..

and yes MTL fans are the worst, and that is EXACTLY why no FA's come here, I wouldnt either, the media and the fans treat them like such garbage, especially if they are not LOCAL players....
