Would have to agree although I would say Boston wins the cup. No one is going to beat either one of these teams. :lecture

You'd think maybe Vancouver because of the sweep but i'd think the complete opposite. Lets hope their heads fatten up after beating the easiest team in the playoffs.

I HATE Vancouver!

I gotta say Badmoon, most of those were dead-on comparisons.

Especially Alexander Ovechkin. He is like a Sarah Boyle. Not the prettiest thing out there, but with world-class talents.

Yeah most were pretty damn close. I thought it was pretty cool! :rock

Unfortunately thats all you have to hang on to.

Better hope the Crapitals do something this year, they have a vey small window before the become th next Tampa Bay Lightning, Backstrom and Semin will be looking for huge pay days.

I do think they will come back and beat the Rangers though. Which means, if Carolina can beat NJD, then the Penns and Craps would play in the second round. Something tells me the NHL is chomping at the bit for this.

Pens are in the same boat. Commited a ton of money to Malkin and Crysby. They won't be able to put a ton around them sooner or later.

Wrong, Malkin, Crosby, Staal, Fleury, Kunitz, Orlik, Talbot all locked up

They will need to get another big D, when Gonchars contract expires at the end of next season, and they will have to spend on Letang. The rest of the guys they can fill up as they go along

Where as the Caps put a TON of money into Ovi, which I think is the right move, and locked in Green, but also wasted money on Jose Threeormore. There GM has some work ahead of him, Semin and Backstron are very important to the team, and if money talks they could walk.

Back to tonights action, get your brooms out for the Habs, hahahah, I cant wait to see the faces of all those sad Habs fans, boo hoo your team has been ^^^^e the whole year

Didn't know MAF had been signed long term, BUT I'm not wrong. The Pens will still have issues putting enough pieces around them. Also enjoy Malkin and Crysby for the next few years because they will both be UFA's at their next contracts and no way they keep both at that point ( 4 years I think ). They could win a cup in the mean time though.

Threeormore ( hated the signing when it happend ) is only signed through next year so he's not long term.. Fedorov's 4 million comes off at the end of this year and he won't be resigned. The only realy issue is finding someone to take sorry ass Nylander off our hands.

Ya, unloading Theo is key, and federov I think has been positive on the young russians. That should free up the cask to lock in Back and Semen.

But going forward no one knows what the cap space will come down to, cuz it will come down. I think a few teams will actually be folding, the market just isnt there for hockey in parts of the USA, no need to push it at a cost to the rest of the league

Yeah, the Caps will go down for sure. I hope it's not a ton or you'll see several teams having to unload good players to get under the cap.

I hope no team have to fold, but it would not shock me. Teams like Nashville, Columbus, Phoenix and a couple of others really could be looked at for contraction, but I don't think that would happen unless the economy stays bad anouther couple of years. I still don't understand why the state of Florida has 2 hockey teams.

Nice job Craps! Bunch of ^^^^ing chokers with Ovechkin and his 0 goals leading the pack. Too bad they didn't get swept so their ass clown of a GM could get fired. Another year of playoff futility. What else would I expect? Losing to another team you sgould be able to beat. You're nothing, but choking dogs.

You suck 30 years of futility down your throat and tell me how you feel. I am not a blind homer who sits there and and continues to eat whatever management throws my way. I am tired of it year after year. If you want to be a blind homer for your team then go for it, but I am a realist.

Pish posh. No blind homer here. I am also a realist. A fan sticks with a team through thick and thin. No matter how dire the situation gets. Having said that, the series isn't over yet and this Valarmov kid looks like something special.

Could be worse, you could be an Islanders fan which has been a devotee to a team with no real direction in the past 10 years. Depending on who you talk to, that can go as far back as their 1979-83 Cup run. There are no Ovechkins, Backstroms, Semins, and Greens on that team. They are flat out bad year in and year out with a No. 1 goalie made of glass tied down to a contract that will last an entire cat's life. No big superstars, unless they get one of Duchene, Hedman, or Tavares and they become something special.

Even then, I would take one of Washington's big aforementioned four before any of those three kids. Atleast with the Caps, you know what you got. Some of the best talent in their positions and they are still very young on top of that.

Be happy. The end of the Cap's tunnel looks bright finally. Just not as bright as the Penguins. :D
