^ :lol Ugh I never ever want to think about that again.

Anyway, more reviews and they're much more detailed this time and even have scores!

CVG.com 9.6/10
Eurogamer (no score, just a 4-page text review)

Comprehensive tear-down of the 3DS hardware. If you want to see the innards and bits inside a 3DS, well then look no further than:

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I decided to keep my preorder for the 3DS. Better to just get it and have it than to have to buy one and a bunch of the good games at once when they are released down the road.

Plus there are some launch titles that have interested me after I read the issue of Nintendo Power I got yesterday.

That's a good idea. Who knows how the supply will be after a month or so. I'm sticking to my guns and waiting until the summer before buying one. I'm hoping the in-hand user reviews will be promising enough to keep me interested.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

My local blockbuster will be having a 3ds trial day tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Will post my impressions.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Well It was a dissappointing look at the 3ds. The system itself is amazing but there were no games to try. Just the Augmented Reality which was quite impressive. The 3D effects are really quite an achievement and it has to be seen in person to be believed. It was better than I expected. The actual console itself feels solid and it's the same size as the DSI. The aqua blue is a nice finish and the screen was incredibly sharp. The wait for march 25th is going to be a long one now I've had my hands on the system.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

well, I buckled down and preordered the blue 3DS and pilotwings. :thud:

Thanks for the impressions, Ash. Did you play it long? Any eye strain?

3DS demo stations are being made available all over UK and Japan, but Nintendo of America are still mum about the rollout in the US.

What, no SSFIV 3D?

I dunno... don't feel like it's a huge priority. I'd rather have a new game to play than just a 3D-ized version of a game I'm still playing on the PS3

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I didn't get eye strain because I literally had it in my hands for all of 3 minutes. It was a bit of a waste of time going really and the blockbuster sales boy was a bit of a douche boasting about how the nintendo rep let him keep it for a week and that he's amazing
at SF IV already. Still it got me excited enough that I'm going to book a days holiday when it's released. People have been complaining about the price but I think it's reasonable because the tech is just so impressive and the build quality feels really nice. Can't wait to play resi evil revelations on the 3d screen. That game will be really special I reckon.

That's understandable. But! If you don't pick up the game during it's first printing you'll miss out on this limited edition box with swank lenticular 3D cover. :lol

Cool. It's too bad that they didn't have any games for you to play. What's up with that? Pretty silly to me.

The one good thing about the U.S. launch date being a Sunday is that it's my day off from work. I'm going to spend all day with the 3DS unless someone nags me to do something. :D

Yeah but you'll be boasting when you have a job and he's unemployed when he gets laid off because of Netflix putting his job out of business.

REALLY? DAMN IT!. Now I seriously do have to get it just for the cover. LOLOLOLOL.

No sarcasm intended. I really will preorder it now just due to that fact. :gah::lol

Re: Nintendo 3DS

That lenticular SSFIV cover is awesome! I'm in Europe though and - as is typical - it won't be available here. :(

Ocarina of Time will be essential. Those screenshots had me crying with nostalgic joy. :)

Amazon is rumored to be interested in buying them so they can keep the Blockbuster name. The article I read stated that they have been planning on doing a streaming video/music service, and with the Blockbuster name that's already established it would be a good opportunity for them if they bought.

This and the MGS3 game are the reasons I want a 3DS so badly.
