Sorry to hear you've had problems with it, I think it depends on getting used to it. I can play any of those games without friction and naturally, but my wife can't. I just think it takes some time, I'm not gonna say it's EXACTLY like the real thing, but it's similar.

AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

I've found the Zelda bug from HELL!!!!

Doubt anyone can help, but still...

After playing now for around 25 hours I've come to the conclusion I'm gonna have to start the game FROM SCRATCH! Basically (SPOILER ALERT!!) I got past the Goron Mines, got to the castle as the wolf, rode the bird to Zora Domain and melted the ice. After floating down the river and waking up at the next water spirit, I thought I'd save the game and come back to it after a break...

When I reload I'm not at the water spirit at Lake Hylia, I'm back at the Zora Domain. Fine, I thought, just a bit of a trek back to the lake... BUT THERE IS NO WAY BACK!!! It seems you can only reach the Lake Hylia spirit via the cutscene. I saved after said cutscene but BEFORE i talked to the spirit... No vessel of light for me... The insects are out, but I can't catch them... I'm doomed to wander Hyrule FOR ETERNITY!!!!

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

I know I should have saved in alternate slots 'just in case' but I honestly didn't expect such a devastating bug to occur in a Ninetendo game...

I've looked on the net but there's no help. Has anyone here come across this? Any suggestions?

I can't face restarting from the beginning right now... I'm too depressed... :(

Sorry man. I'm trying to think of the different ways to get out of there but you are probably still stuck as a wolf.

If I'm not mistaken, you should still be able to get from Zora's Domain back to Hyrule. Fall down the big water fall, which may or may not be solid ice for you. Then follow the river to the left and it should take you out of Zora's Domain

Yeah, I can get out of Zora's Domain but can't get to the spirit at Lake Hylia... I've tried jumping off bridges (not possible), following the river as far as it will take me - no luck! I just can't get to the spirit to get the vessel of light to... well, continue...

Think I'll have to bite the bullet and start again... The pain of it... :(

I don't think you do, but I got past that so long ago I can't remember to help. You can call the dragon again I know, just get some whistle weed, on both sides of the river.

I just can't remember to be any real help though, sorry.

Not having played the game, all I can say is:

You should either be able to use the whistle weed as stated before or the Cuccoo ride down to the bottom. If you can get back to Hylrule field you can find a way down there. I guess you haven't gotten the warp point for Lake Hylia yet?

No, that's the problem I've got - I can get to Lake Hylia, but not to the spirit there. I'm basically stuck in limbo without the vessel of light. I'm still a wolf so the whistle weed's no help. Besides, I can get to Zora Domain and back just not to the spirit... I've tried everything possible and nothing works. It's a bad glitch oversight on Nintendo's part, and my own fault for not saving in multiple slots... :(

Thanks for the sympathy though guys. It lessens the pain... a little...

We just got our replacement wrist straps from Nintendo. They arrived sooner than I expected. They must really be affraid of law suits over these.

Ok, Zelda again... sorry...

Same prob as before, but does anyone know the tune to howl to get the bloody bird to come get me? I'm at Upper Zora River howling like a loon but nothing's happening... See if this makes sense:

If 1 is the lowest and 3 the highest pitch, I'm howling 121321 with only a half square between the second 1 and the 3... I've also tried 321321, but nada, zilch, zero, nowt...

Am I howling up the wrong tree? Is there some hawk grass in the area DIRECTLY after falling down the waterfall? I've looked everywhere but the only grass seems to be at Upper Zora River...

Should I just give up the ghost and start again...

Or maybe THROW MY WII AT THE NEAREST WALL!!!!!!

AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

:D

I hope you're not wasting your time howling at the stone. If I remember correctly, you need to use the same grass as you did to summon the hawk at the beggining of the game. I'm not sure if you can do that as a wolf or not.

I DID IT!!!

Finally my troubles are over! I feel a little dumb right now - it was claringly simple in the end - but at least all is well in Hyrule again!

The howling stone/grass tripped me up for days... I basically howled at the stone to summon the golden wolf and spent days trying to summon the bird using the same tune. Because Midna got the bird the first time, I didn't know what tune to howl or even if it was possible. U failed to notice the blue highlights on the howling menu until last night... :) Followed the highlights, bird came and I flew all the way to Lake Hylia in about 2 minutes...

Doh! Sometimes you really can't see the wood for the trees...

Anyway, I'm back hunting those damned insects again!

WOO-HOO :chew :chew :chew

That's happened to me more than once in the game. I think something is going to be more complicated than it is, than the answer is sitting on my chest the whole time and I smack myself in the head.

I feel like that in dungeons in Zelda. The answer is so simple somtimes but I always make it to be hard. I guess the water temple from Ocarina of Time scarred me for life, haha!

is the zelda Wii game really that different from the zelda Gamecube game? I really want to play it, but don't feel like waiting for the Wii to get in stock...

Controller aside, it's identical except for the fact that the Gamecube version is a mirrored version of the Wii game - if you tske a left path in the Wii version you'd be heading right in the GC one... Quirky!

yep. Link is left-handed but since most people are right-handed and you use the wii controller to swing they made the wii version where Link is right-handed.
