Got my Wii last Sunday and just got to play it for a few hours. It's absolutely amazing! Anyone considering buy one deffiantely needs to do so. I picked up Zelda, Red Steel, Need for Speed, and Madden. I've only got to play wii sports and Zelda so far, I haven't even opened the others yet. Anyone know if the others I got are any good?

Red Steel has it moments, but for the most part, it's not a good game. It can be very frustrating as the game is very choppy and that's not something you want in a FPS. The sword play is pretty weak. The graphics are OK at best and the voice acting is one of the worst I've ever heard. This game seems like it was rushed to get out at launch. It's got a lot of great ideas, it just doesn't make the most of them. Needless to say, I'm selling my copy this week.

To avoid slippage we got a set of those Controller Gloves at Target. We've never had any problems with slipping and the one time I over followed through in bowling and banged it against the ceiling, it proteced the wi-mote from any damage! Plus, it lets us keep track of which wii-mote is hers and which is mine. A subtle, yet powerful, tool in our sense of competition.

Me and my ball n chain wanna do that. She wants Peach (a pink slip) and I want Mario (the red, of course.) My friend just got the Black "Hyrule" themed one. I like that some are game oriented, I'm a sucker for that.

Holy censored, I didn't know that. Gotta go get a Hyrule one.

Just got Rayman, little early X-Mas present, I totally suggest this game for all! Tons of mini-fgames and they're FUN! I thought it'd be lame, but man it blew me away, rent it if you're iffy, but I love it. It's getting me ready for Warrio Ware in Jan!

If I don't have a Wii by the time a Star Wars game comes out, I will certainly get one at that point.

Well I have the Nintendo Wii and all I can say is It's lot of fun... Can't wait to use a Lightsaber... please Lucasarts make our Jedi x-mas wish come true :)

Just got a Wii today. After the family and I set up some Mii's I connected to the internet to check out the Mii parade feature. After I set up the internet connection it said it would update the system. "Okay, it can't take too long."

That was over an hour ago. It's a little over halfway done now :banghead

I have been having the same insanely long load time for an update. Got the Wii as a birthday/christmas gift from the fiance, and she also got me some Wii points. I was so excited to buy the old-school Zelda to play it on the big screen, as well as some TG-16 games, and I started the update last night, went to bed, and it hadn't finished when I woke up this morning. I tried to restart several times, to no avail. The customer service suggestions on the Nintendo website ain't exactly clueing me in either, so I plan on calling the wireless router manufacturer tonight to see if I need to add the Wii to my network before it will play nice. Good luck, and if you have any suggestions let me know!

The Mii system is pretty cool, I made a little Steve Zissou Mii, and may have to try making some of the Firefly cast! It'll be hard since the options are so limited though!

The download finally finished. I'm guessing a lot of people are hitting nintendo's servers hard after today's shipments.

On that note, I'm off to play.

I had the same problem when I went to update mine and that was back the week after Thanksgiving. It cycled for an entire day. Finally disconnected the power and start again. The second time had no problem at all and it updated very fast.

A friend told me that he was so into Zelda that when he tossed the boomerang the controller flew out of his hand and hit his plasma. Didn't crack it, but now there's a big black spot where it got it, like some of the LCDs died.

Just found this site for all the stuff that has been damaged from the Wii, pretty interesting site. https://www.wiihaveaproblem.com/damage.php

Thanks for the resetting tips, I kept trying today too, but maybe I need to kill the power and try again. Oh well, working for another 15 minutes, and then I can't wait to play Zelda!

I had no idea you could motion to throw the boomerang:confused:

I always just hit the Z button when I had it designated. I gotta go try that.
