I have finally joined the ranks of the cool and scored a Wii... and I love it, what a fun system.

I'm a bit out of the loop on what games are good for the system, any suggestions on what I should pick up?

Welcome to the Wii family...

Two GREAT single player games are Zelda and Paper Mario...

If you are into multiplayer games pick up WarioWare Smooth Moves. Actually, it is technically a single player game but it is great fun to play with a group of people... you just have to pass the controller around.

Also, THE BIGS is suppose to be fun. I bought it for the 360 and love it and have heard good things about it for the wii.

Some upcoming games to look forward to are...
Super Mario Galaxy (november)
Super Smash Bros. (december)
Mario Kart (1st Qtr. 2008)
Wii Fit (2008)

Seen the new Super Mario Galaxy trailer for the wii, looks like so much fun. Plus mario can turn into Boo now, sweet.

Mario is the best franchise EVER! It's seems dumb a kiddy but than can get really tough, and is fun the whole time. Not the kind of hard that makes me all ticked off and want to quit, but the kind that makes me wanna be the best. I can't wait for that and the new Smash Bros.

Mario Cart will come packaged with a steering wheel and will be playable online. That is going to be kick ass!!!!

I wish that SSB was going to be playable online though :monkey2

plus i heard when he visits "different worlds" they will each have different gravity so I'm sure some will feel like mario 1, which felt like a magnet was pulling you towards the ground, and some will have the feel of mario 2 or 3 which he hung in the air a lot longer. can't wait for this one.

Word to the wise avoid the POTC game at all cost! I had my nephew visiting so I thought it would be fun to buy a game we could play with a bit while he was here. Against my better judgement I went with his suggestion and it is awful! Seriously the most boring gameplay I've ever seen and it requires 0 skill :monkey4

I'm gonna have to trade it in for something that sucks less :lol

That's true. They just took the PS2 version and added Wii controls. But it's not as bad as what they did to PC, that was the PS2 version as well and it's disgusting.

Don't buy any Wii game unless it was really made for Wii, because with most releases it just gets made as an afterthought.

Yep, thats the lesson I've learned from this one :lol

And I had meant to check reviews before I went to the store, but I completely forgot too... another mistake I won't be making again.

Has anyone played Super Mario Strikers yet????

Was wondering if I should pick it up... also, I saw that there are real bowling and pool games coming out in August. I hope they are good.

JUST GOT MY Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soo cool, a couple of questions for you Wii-bees

What are the top 5 games?

What are good games for 7 year old girls? My daughter is dying to play some, and just can't do Harry Potter...

I asked the same question a bit ago and this was the answer... I also understand that Resident Evil 4 is real kickass.

Here's a site I found with pretty helpful ratings, I don't know anything about who runs it but still thought it was useful to me: Game Reviews

And word of advice, steer very clear from Pirates of the Carribean... so terrible it makes monkeys cry :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

I almost got one yesterday, I walked into a Walmart in UT and they had like 10 but I didnt want to deal with getting it back.

I got one way back on launch day, but since then i've honestly only played it a handful of times. My wife loves it, but i'm into my 360 and PS3 more.

I recommend Trauma Center Second Opinion. That and Zelda are pretty much the 2 games I played the most.

My 5 year old enjoys playing Cars. I like playing Zelda and Trauma Center I don't think you can go wrong with either one of those.

Got Mario Strikers Charged the other day. I really don't care for soccer (or football, depending on your region), but I do quite enjoy knocking turtles and princesses on their butts with bombs and tackles while kicking a glowing orb type thing into nets after throwing hammers at giant alligators.

Multiplayer is really sweet. The best way to go is multiplayer over the 'net with a friend next to you (2 at your place against 2 strangers).

My only disappointment is that internet multiplayer is region-locked.

i tried my friend's Wii the other day. I got bored after 10 minutes.
