WiFi Connector no workie... guess I'll have to get a real wireless connection in my home. I think my Wii is too far away from the signal source?!?
Is it to far to run a internet cable and get the lan adapter?

100ft of ethernet cable is way less than the wifi adapter. thats what i chose to do. went to newegg, bought 100ft, ethernet switch, and after shipping it was still only $27.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. And its really not far, the thing that confuses me is my computer is able to recognize the Wii (you have to register each system) yet for some reason it doesn't connect to the internet?!?

anybody played tiger woods 08 for the wii yet? trying to determine if i should get this (already have it for the ps3) but i'd like to know if it's good on the wii. golf club swinging action would be fun.

It ok. Its fun playing that way but its hard for me to adjust to the way the mesure swings and distance based on the % of power. The % of power is across all platforms so its just getting use to what swings result in what power. Also this is from someone who has played golf for over 25 years and competative thru High School. I wouldn't have evert got TW08 if I didn't have Wii, I bought because it would be fun to play that way. Graphics are no where as near as good though. At least from screen shots from 360. I would say rent it at a Blockbuster or somewhere and then see if you like it. As much as I complained about it I played it for maybe 5-6 hours for 2 days once I got it though.

the wii is the most fun i have had from a console in a longe time , its like going back in time and getting a nes and super maio bros 2.
i got a 360 and its just sitting there now.

I don't know, Wii Golf is still pretty simply fun. Beat -9 on that !!

Mario Strikers Charged looks real fun and has some good reviews anyone played it here?

Mario Galaxy in a few weeks!!!:wacky

Ive got a Wii, i currently have RE0, RE Remake, RE2, Re3, RE CV, RE 4 Special Edition & RE4 Wii Edition. I also have Zelda The Windwaker & Zelda The Twilight Princess

I was very excited about SSMB, but it got delayed a couple months and won't be out until Feb. now. I still need to finish Metroid though so that should take me a bit.

I'm seriously considering this console (and I haven't owned a game console since Atari 2600).

So if I were to get a Wii which games are the absolutely MUST have to best use the features of the system and are the most fun?

Since you haven't played in a while, I'd keep it simple. Wii Sports will keep you busy for a long time (by far the best free game ever) Resident Evil 4 is a great first person shooter that really utilizes the Wii controller as a gun very well (and can be found pretty cheap) Zelda Twilight Princess is by far the best game out for the system but may be a bit advanced for you off the bat. And don't forget that you can get a million old Gamecube games really cheap and also all the virtua console games as well.

I keep forgetting that it plays all the GC games. Must go back and get Rogue Squadron...What a great time that was.(also Bounty Hunter was very good as well and both with good graphics)

Wii Sports (fun game, and best Wii tech demo out there)
RE4 (for $30, you can't afford *not* to have this)
Metroid Prime 3 (FPS controls, but not really a FPS; more a first person adventure than shooter)
WarioWare Smooth Moves (If you're into multiplayer, up to 15 players, the more the merrier! If it's just you, or just you and one other person, pass on this one)

I can't comment on Twilight Princess because I haven't played it yet. Seriously. :monkey4

i just traded mine in towards a PS3. i still love the Wii, but there aren't that many games on it for me. sure all the Resident Evil games are great, but none of them are NEW games. they are remakes of older games (nothing wrong with it because they are awesome) which i've played many times before. zelda, metroid were great but after playing through them i lost interest. i will probably pick another one up sometime next summer hopefully they'll have more games out for the big kids.

Lego Star Wars, not out yet, looks like it might fit the bill. The game(s) for the GameCube were great but on the Wii you'll use the wiimote like a lightsaber! My girlfriend (for whom the Wii is her first console since the original Nintendo) loves it because she finds the difficulty level about right for the casual gamer.
