Thanks for the thread- I did not know that they were doing another batch of the BD version. I have a clean one I bought from secretcompass when they originally came out. I was lucky and got one with no major flaws. The only flaw in mine is slight knick at the back of head (about 1/16 of an inch) when I moved it once to adjust the shelves that house my collection at my apartment.

BTW secretcompass is great to deal with-among the best in customer service I've dealt with over the years.

I pre-ordered a BD version from Sideshow for my office at work- should go with all the other stuff- A Sideshow Jaws Maquette, old movie posters and NFL memorabilia

Okay, necropost time.

(The main 1:1 IM Mark III Bust was closed back in the day, so I'll choose this one.)

The counterfeits for this piece are ALL over eBay. If I ever do decide to pick up this piece, I'd like to know how to avoid the fakes. One of the things that I noticed is that the bottom of the authentic IM busts are stamped with SSC's logo, etc. etc.

Are any of the counterfeits stamped like that?

Are there any other ways to differentiate real from fake? I mean they are ALL over eBay. It's sickening.

:lol :lol :lol

It is! :lol

I can't even get one nowadays without having to worry about counterfeit this or counterfeit that. Ridiculous.

Holy smokes you revived one old *** thread! One of the few threads I started. I had no idea there were so many fakes. I guess the sure fire way to tell is the price. If it's priced too good to be true and coming from china or something like that, it's a guarantee it's a recast. I still have my BD bust and love it!

Yeah, but what's to prevent someone from selling a fake at retail?

There's a few one eBay that are starting at a high amount (in relation to recasts), but how do I know?
