No SS armored Characters for the next few years?

Armored figures are coming. But even if they solicit the first stormie or bike trooper or whatever at SDCC it probably won't "hit the market" until December 07. That's a year away - so the "a year or two" makes some sense...

I missed that one. I'm sure it doesn't need to be posted again though. And I'm sure Shai said it in jest. It's impossible to get someone's tone in a written message and some jokes may be taken seriously. I mean we all make fun of Danny for being a little Mexican but nobody takes that seriously.

Maybe when they say "armored" figures they mean Stormtroopers and clones, etc... Vader and Fett are only part armor and part body suits and clothing.

Maybe we're getting "armored" and "helmeted" mixed up. I mean, Boushh has some armor with helmet and they did her.

I am not sure that Vader belongs in the "armored" line. I think that Sideshow may have an easier time with him, as he doesn't have the full body armor like clone troopers or stormtroopers. He has his armored shoulder pauldrons, his chest plate and codpiece, but I don't see why he would be so much harder to design than a figure like Boushh that it would be unreasonable to expect him sooner. IF the rumors are true surrounding the 1/6 scale chess table, and Chewie is on the way soon, maybe they have developed a big body to accomodate both Vader and Chewie. I am just trying to be optimistic

A "in a few years" is the type of flacky, non-committed type of information that seems to be a staple with SS. I dont like it one bit. Others can be perfectly fine with it, but I think it is in poor taste. PLUS, with all the RAH troopers dropping, "in a few years" will, IMO, be just that. Like Ive said before, releasing the RAH figures cannibalizes future sales for SS, so to me, it smells like the SS offerings are a way bit off in the future. I think this is proof positive. I HOPE Im wrong. I KNOW no wants likes it when folks are pissed at SS, but THIS, Im pissed off about. Flame on!

For the record I don't think any company is perfect. I do however think that at this time Medicom's best 1/6 efforts far surpass Sideshow's despite having a few minor issues which could do with improving.
If SS deliver a perfect Stormtrooper,Vader,Fett etc in the next 2 years then great,more choice is always a good thing for collectors but "perfection" is a pretty bold claim and nothing I've seen from Sideshow in 1/6 scale so far suggests that they will achieve "very good" let alone "perfect".

I hear you bro, but the point is: THIS SHOULD BEDONE ALREADY! We've endured the Endor troops, the environments, the unexplained price hikes, and NOW we are told that they S T I L L arent ready. Some guys may think it's cool, but I dont think it's right at all. My guess is that, while I HOPE Im wrong, the figure that will be unveiled to go with the chess set will be EPIV Luke and the excuse will be that "hey, the table is an environment and we did do the blast helmet as an exclusive". And I think Vader will be the first "armored" figure because he requires less armor than a Stormtrooper and is the next advancement after Boushh. (I hope.)

Im inclined to agree with you tom. With Fett you have the shin guards, the gauntlets, the chest armor, the belts and all that jazz. With Vader you have the headsculpt, the chestbox, shoulder/upper torso armor, codpiece and shin guards. I would reckon that much easier than full leg armor and chest armor and all that jazz that Stormies have.

I'm plenty confident. Why arent people crying about no droids like they do about no troopers yet? The droids are FAR more iconic in my eyes than Stormtroopers. Sideshow is looking, no doubt, for durability along with posability and asthetics. Remember durability was why they made Jabba from a harder vinyl.

Arrr at this point... Im curious what we will see first, ROTJ or ANH Vader. ROTJ would go well with Luke, but I think we are about to see a large ANH focus.
