You Know My Name with Chris Cornell really set the tone for Casino Royale. Man, I love that movie.

Spectre too.
That was bad. I remember playing it for my dad before the film came out and when the guy went into his high pitched voice, my dad thought he was getting torture by Le Chifrre. 😆 I said, now hold on now, the song might not be so bad once we see it in the film with the intro images. Nope, still sucked. Having said that, it's still better than the current theme. That thing is going to put me to sleep.

I'm watching Spectre as part of my Bond marathon. You know the film is going to suck when they f***** up the gun barrel opening. Graig is walking with his gun in plain view as he swings his arms. The whole point of the opening gun barrel sequence is that the shooter aiming at Bond doesn't know Bond is carrying a weapon and as a result he gets shot by Bond. I mean, how do you **** up a 60 year old intro. 😩 If that wasn't awful enough, the f****** gun barrel doesn't move side to side, expanding into the opening scene of the film, which opens with a skull, talk about a missed opportunity of connecting the opening image with the death of the gun barrel man. Instead, the gun barrel gets covered in blood and remains static. G Zeus! That film was DOA. 😆

I miss the Christmas marathons they used to run. I think it was USA Network? I haven't seen it for years now. Fun to jump in and watch Bond. Now it is just NBA garbage and maybe an NFL night game.
Yeah, Christmas and Thanksgiving. Pluto tv has a 24/7 Bond channel. I always have a Bond film playing in the background. 😁

September or November used to be Bond Month on The Movie Channel fairly regularly. Uncut and no commercials is always better.

I watch the older ones for nostalgia sake; the newer ones are harder for me to sit through. But that's solely the result of growing up with Connery and Moore. As goofy as Moore was, he is still more Bond to me than Dalton or Brosnan. Only Craig won me over -- despite the fact that all of his movies are slow and way too long. Yes, Casino Royale too. After LeChiffre dies, you could take a nap and wake up in plenty of time to see Venice sink.

I think it's cool how every generation has "their" Bond.

Anyway, they dropped the ball with LeChiffre. He could have easily been in more than one film.

He certainly was a ball buster.

I like the older films with the fun, unique action sequences and frankly, the treatment of women. Women were still featured, but were not invincible. This crap today has to have woman dominating men without any reprisal, like some mob will be showing up at their house. Surprised Game of Thrones featured what they did, as it should be in a medieval setting.

It all went down hill when women were allowed to vote. 🤭

For me, Bond was always about the gadgets, action, girls, villains and locales. There was a cool sexiness to the old Bonds. Most of the women I remember had balls of their own. *** objects and bikinis, sure... but so was Bond (at least Connery and Craig).

It's pretty ridiculous really -- women complain about Bond then go home and read 50 Shades of Gray.

All I know is, I'm sure glad I'm not a teenager or 20-something in today's world.

From Craig's films I only listen to the Chris Cornell song and Adele's Skyfall - the others were total misses for me.

Of Brosnan's I kinda like all the songs - even Madonna's Die Another Day grew on me a bit. But as with the movie itself Tina Turner's GoldenEye leads the pack.

I think both Dalton films got decent songs.

Moore had Nobody does it Better and Duran Duran's View to a Kill. Live & Let Die is obviously a good song but I just prefer the others. I like the sound of the other songs Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only & Octopussy although they're a bit....I dunno, mushy mushy...schmaltzy. I wouldn't listen to them in company. :lol The Man With the Golden Gun is my least favourite song from Moore's films.

My preferred song from Connery's films....probably Goldfinger, followed by Thunderball. You Only Live Twice has a great melody though which Robbie Williams used in his song Millenium.
