The Craig Bonds really missed on the gadgets. I guess it is too cheesy to have them nowadays. The MCU has cheesy humor and makes hundreds of millions.

Q didn't show up untill Skyfall, and we he did, all he gave Bond was a gun and a radio. Having said that, it made sense and that whole scene was probably the most interesting and meaningful interaction between Bond and Q in any of the Bond films.

As for the gadgets being too cheesy, it depends on the gadget. Some gadgets are too good it makes you wonder why Bond doesn't use them in other films, like Brosnan's X Ray sunglasses. He literally had X-ray vision in one scene and never used the glasses again. A bulletproof suit like John Wick's was such an obvious thing for Q to give Bond and no one ever thought of it.

Anyway, Q and Bond using gadgets are essential parts of the 007 brand, so much in fact that other films copied the concept of the "gadget" maker to help the hero, so I hope they go back to that in the reboot. I don't want Q to just be a computer guy that helps Bond like Oracle helps Batman.

Well you get a little of it in this one. You'll see. But overall I agree. There is just certain things like a dumb radio instead of a gps tracker or in this one early on why they try to kill him and not just plant a bomb when he starts his car just makes me scratch my head.

I love the Goldeneye pen bomb. Made for a great moment. Now that's creative writing! Or a car that drives underwater, jet pack, etc. No, no. All serious with Craig Bond!

The BMW was cool too. It was the debut of that model. His watch had a laser too. That was kind of cool. He had to take it off tho, so he couldn't just go around lasering people like Homelander (The Boys tv show).

The more I watch Goldeneye, the more I think it's my favorite Bond film. I know it's not the best, but I can watch it any time. I can't say the same for the Craig films for some reason. Maybe Casino Royale.

I need to rewatch some old ones. Casino Royale and Goldeneye the last two best ones. I actually like most of the Connery and Moore films. Dalton just didnt have the bad guys. Lazenbyberrybo had Diana Riggs 😃

Hmmm

Well….

It was the best action movie i’ve watched since ZSJL.

There was absolutely nothing woke in this movie whatsoever all those years of anger and disgust for nothing lol

Lots of good in it.

But……..

It also suffers from an overtly simple plot that was weirdly made out to be complicated.

I went in with such low expectations of the villain that I actually ended up not hating him.

Love the opening.

When the “Bond” deep bass trombones kick in you will get goosebumps.

I rate it 2nd best in the DC era after CR.

Bond vs Michael Myers next

I gave 2nd place to Skyfall only because I like Silva better than Safin.

Also the cinematography in both the "jellyfish assassin" scene and that floating gaming house are just unmatched.

Yeah I think I have it tied with SF both have their own unique special qualities.

I do think SF will be easier to sit thru again than NTTD.

I still hate BE intro song lol

What was the controversy over NTTD opening barrel sequence it has one.

I don't know. It has a closing one too.

I just saw the intro on Youtube. Craig still can't hide that gun when he walks. :lol Well, he tried this time.

Anyways, there's no blood. That must be the "controversy."

Definitely his best one - and the least traditional.

Still, having just had a youtube recap of each actor's Gun Barrel walks, I'm sticking with Brosnan's as the coolest - so cool it looks like they never got him to reshoot it. And with his one I'm shot dead center, with the others I'm grazed at best :lol

Who had the worst in your opinion?

Connery and Lazenby if I'm honest. But maybe it's unfair to pick Connery since his was the first (was it even him, that dark silhouette could be anyone). Nevertheless I'm picking theirs as the worst walks and spins. And I don't like the hat.

Moore had a good walk and a decent spin & aim. I'm giving him second place behind Brosnan.

Connery did it for the first time in Thunderball.

Lazenby was the weirdest. The way he swings his arm and gets on his knee almost makes it look like he got shot. :lol
