what the hell, TDKR thread closed? How about you close every marvel thread and just put it into one huge thread too?

We don't need separate threads for all 9 Batman movies especially since each "reboot" since 1966 has run its course and is over now. If people went crazy with threads for each Star Wars or Friday the 13th film I'd condense them too. And for the record, all Batman (or DC films) have not been put into "one huge thread." You've got Pre-Nolan, Nolan, MoS, MoS 2, etc.

Although hardly anyone will try to make live action version of BTAS at least in the next half century.

The Nolan trilogy's very foundation, the idea that it would be Batman set in a totally "realistic" world, is completely inconsistent with the canon version of the character. The fact that WB ever green-lit something like that while the storm that would become the MCCU was brewing speaks volumes to their shortsightedness.

Of course it wasn't.

Although hardly anyone will try to make live-action version of BTAS at least in the next half century.

I have to say, outside of the comics, BTAS is definitely my definitive version of Batman. At the very least, I'm sure Snyder will take us closer to that version. Also, there's no telling who else will direct either the team-up, or solo Batman films before this iteration of the DCCU is over, so you might be pleasantly surprised.

So allowing one of the world's best upcoming (at the time, and now firmly established) film makers to do his take on possibly the most popular comic book character of all time was short sighted?

Given that the result was one of the most critically and commercially successful movie trilogies of all time, I think not.

I would agree, that sounds like the Nolan backlash being applied retroactively. I don't think anyone post-Batman&Robin would have or did argue against Nolan's approach. It was the most logical thing to do at that point. Having said that I think the logical thing now is to reintroduce a bit more of the fantastical again.

Yeah, Nolan was a great palette cleanser and restored balance to the Force. Now they can have fun with the fantasy again as long as they don't go back to the Dark Side....

At the end of the day, what it all comes down to is that people love to *****. They ***** that Batman & Robin is terrible, and them they go on to ***** about how overrated The TDK Trilogy is. Make up your minds, people; or do you just love being perpetually unhappy with the results of anything?
