I think you're talking about macroevolution, which is indeed more than theory. Typical church of the big-bang evolution does preach that life evolved from nothing though---unless you subscribe to the theory of intelligent design via evolution.

The evidence is there. Humans beings are primates. We indeed share a great deal of our DNA with our closest relative, chimpanzees.

However, much evidence does tend to be sketchy as scientists refer a great deal to the fossil record which in itself is sparse, as the conditions needed to form fossils tend to be specific. However, Humans did not evolve from Apes. Apes, and humans, do share a common ancestor somewhere in the far distant path, as shown bt the DNA we share with other closely related animals.


As for the 'original organism', I'm not a biologist, or a scientist. But I do try to refer to the evidence. Since all life on earth does have DNA, and different species of life can even share some DNA, I'll trust the evidence that points to an origin point until new evidence comes to light.

Evolution does have different terms, Biological evolution (Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection) doesn't talk about where life came from, or on the origins of the Universe. Abiogenesis (Life arising from non life) and origins of the Universe (Big Bang Theory) are different aspects of science.

*shrug* I'm not an expert in the field. The evidence does point towards humanity as a primate. I've even seen some say that we are great apes. Just one that tends to be brighter and use more tools.

That said there is evidence for Evolution leading up to the current say, and no evidence for ANY OTHER competing theory. Even if you were able to refute and disprove Evolution, it does not mean that an alternate hypothesis is true. You still need to provide the evidence to support it. This has never been done.

If I could have one wish - it would be that people who want to discuss politics/religion would go to a board that is more appropriate for said discussion. This is not the place....all this does is create headaches for everyone.
