Just read a bit on how much Sir Alec Guinness apparently disliked his experience shooting Star Wars and the fame that followed. I think he would've approved of this pose and facial expression. To me it's him saying: "Seriously?! Another Star Wars fan letter? Rubbish." :lol

Guinness was never shy when it came to him expressing his dislike for SW.

Yup that's the look on his face:

"F--k this jedi bull$h1t."

Of course. I don't know how I hadn't read more about it before. I can understand how he felt, from a certain point of view. I mean, the guy was knighted long before Star Wars was ever filmed :)

This statue's awesome. Whenever your wife wants to throw the fact that you spent two grand on a statue back at you, all she has to do is point to it, and his expression will say it all for her.

Funny, but maybe that's how he would be looking at someone who lets their wife tell them how to spend their dough..

I think it looks good, but your fooling yourself if the production run will look like that. :lol

The Virgin Kenobi....

Heh, nice. I was thinking I'd seen Ol' Ben's head tilt somewhere before, but I thought it was more "crucifixion Jesus." I swear, every representation of that I came across had this same 'head tilt to the left' look :lol

It's a nicely made statue, but... I'd prefer this as 1/4 instead of midget-size.

That whole portrayal of 1:2 scale statues being "midget size" is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. So, is 1/4 scale half a midget then? What about 1/6? Makes no sense at all.

No reason to talk like that just because you don't agree. I find that kind of rude, tbh.

In my opinion, when you have a half-scale statue, it has a whole different presence compared to smaller scale statues. This different presence entails a more life-like quality. This, in my view, leads to the statues being evaluated and perceived in a slightly different way. It can be summed up basically like this: "Who's that little fella' over in the corner?" That would be a reaction I wouldn't find unlikely when observing a collection.

I'm not bashing 1/2 statues. I love a lot of them. But a little old man just makes it a bit harder to swallow.

Didn't mean to be rude, but I've heard that logic before about the "kid size" or "midget" portrayal of 1:2 statues and I just find it really irritating.

Sorry, if you find it irritating... I tried to explain myself, and if you still don't see my point and disagree, that's also perfectly fine. I'm not trolling you with that comment. It's a genuine impression that I am under from having looked at tons of pictures of this piece, and having imagined it in a display/collection.

...when you have it displayed in front of you in person you get a completely different reaction...something more like :horror :eek :love :monkey5 :google :bow HOLY ****!! THAT'S AWESOME!!!! i have got that reaction from my friends who have seen my 1/2 Maul but never who is that little guy in the corner. ;)

i don't find it irritating when net nerds call these midgets... jealousy does not irritate me...

I can't wait to receive mine!!!

...i am in agreement with you... :D
