You know, I kinda wish the movie went into total bat**** insanity territory towards the end. It would've been incredibly entertaining. Like Skyline. Skyline was ****ing horrible, until that ending.

I would give it a solid 8/10 for me. Saw it TWICE.

The movie looks pretty shallow (comparisons to Independence Day are all I need to know I'll hate it), so I doubt I'd be interested regardless of who was starring but I'm definitely there with you in my general distaste for Tom Cruise. Generally I don't care about how an actor is in RL, but Tom Cruise is on a shortlist of actors I just don't want to see anymore, along with Mel Gibson.

The movie looks pretty shallow (comparisons to Independence Day are all I need to know I'll hate it), so I doubt I'd be interested regardless of who was starring but I'm definitely there with you in my general distaste for Tom Cruise. The comparison from ID4 comes from a Michael Bay fanboy, he also compared it to Skyline, so clearly he has no clue what he's talking about...
I used to have Mark Whalberg, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio, but after watching a bunch of their movies I realized I was missing out on some great films, so I got over that and in the case of Oblivion, I suggest you do the same!!
