I love that scene from the movie too.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Hi everyone.. I'm new to the Sideshow Freaks forum, but have been collecting 1/6 since Jan. 2009, and a member of OneSixthWarrior for months now..

I just wanted to express how excited I am to find out that there are Rambo collectors here! :) Good thing Sideshow Freaks was mentioned in a post in the other forum, hence I signed up..
I will be faithfully back-reading this thread, hehe..

And to answer your question, bro Bezzerkerr, the best Hot Toys Rambo for me is:

Hot Toys Rambo 3

rambo2.jpg

I like the face/headscuplt of the First Blood M65 Jacket version, but the Hot Toys Rambo 3 just gives me the ambience of the Rambo mythos more than the other figures.
Sadly, I'm still chasing this, as I haven't decided to bite the bullet on the HT Rambo 3 figures on eBay (all ranging from US$300+)! :monkey2

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I feel your pain on that Rambo 3 Hot Toys costing $300+ on Ebay now. It's to bad that you came to the party a little late. I think Rambo 3 only cost about $100 when it came out. I remember being angry when I had to spend $150 for mine when I waited to long and didn't preorder it.

If you like Rocky you can still get into the Hot Toys Rocky line, but I think your going to have to pay almost double for those figs to.

Anyone know what the current secondary market value on Rocky HT is right now?

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Hello fellow Rocky and Rambo fans. Here are some average prices for the figures you have mentioned. These prices are for in new condition. Buy used and save a few bucks.

Rambo 3: $300
M65 Jacket Version:$170
Rambo 2:$250

Rocky 4: $200
Rocky 3 (Stallion Version): $150
Drago, Apollo: $130
Clubber Lang: $160

This is in my opinion of course. Keep in mind I own all these figures and payed substantially less within the last year for them. Just depends how cunning your hunting skills are I guess. Other Rambo and Rocky fans agree with my #'s?

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Seeing how high these figurs have gone up in value makes me wish I'd bought a couple to sell off.

I am surprised that with the less than great sculpt and fragile rubber body, the Rambo 2 figure goes for that much. I guess its because he was the first in the bunch, but than again, problems aside, for some reason its one of my favorite Rambo figures.

If you bought a couple extra, you would just end up keeping them cause Rambo collectibles are too cool to sell. Rock83 buys a few extra and just ends up hoarding them to himself:D

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Rambo 2, despite the portrait's so-so-ness, is one of the cooler overall Rambo figures with the gear, the iconic look, and honestly, I hear everyone taking issue with the body but I have no problems with mine whatsoever. My only issues with Rambo 2 are the Pre-Yulli sculpt and the inhuman skin tone, he was tanned in the film, but not orange like the figure.

M65 would get more praise out of me if the factory figure A) was on the narrow true type, I swapped and he looks more like Sly now, and B) the body he came on wasn't all glossy. For some reason, the M65 TrueType is VERY shiny and you do see the neck on the figue so you have this realistic, matte finishe portrait and all of a sudden his neck is glistening like he's oiled up for a body building show.

To buy or not to buy?

I hope this message is not off-topic, as this is still related to Rambo figures.

I got an offer from a OneSixthWarrior member with username Steve, who is based in Luxembourg. For those who are members of OneSixthWarrior, here is the forum link: https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/open-market/147239-collection-sale.html

His items for sale are:
1) Hot Toys First Blood: Rambo 2 (opened, but complete boxed set, small dent on box, figure still mint) - US$200
2) Hot Toys Rambo 3 (opened, but complete boxed set, figure still mint) - US$200
Shipping to the Philippines for both - US$75

Here are the photos he emailed me:

Now, it will cost me US$475, and from where I live (Philippines), that is a lot of money! I am kinda hesitant to go through the purchase because Steve only has 16 posts even if he is a member of OSW since 2004. He also has no Trade References yet in OSW. He also does not have his Hot Toys action figures posted, but if you PM him he does send photos of the boxed sets. Also, he gave me his eBay user ID (davidbeckham110571), and he has more than 200 positive feedbacks (no negative or neutral). He already sent me a Payment Request via Paypal (Steve David ([email protected]). :google

I would like to ask for your advice if I will push through with this or not, as he is giving me a very tempting price for these boxed sets (US$200 each only), yet I am not sure of his reputation in OSW. I have spent sleepless afternoons :rotfl figuring out what I will do, because this may either be the bargain of the year for me, or the rip-off of the century! Has anybody dealt with this guy before? I want to post a thread in the forum, to ask who in OSW or Sideshow Freaks have already purchased from him, but I don't want to offend him as well by doing that, hence him not selling the items to me.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, sirs! :monkey2

Re: To buy or not to buy?

First off,
The Rambo 2 deal is about average and at $200 before shipping, you will be able to get that figure at that price again in the near future I can almost guarantee. The Rambo 3 figure is a good price, $275 shipped international seems good, but with no feedback, I would not do it. Sorry if that was not what you wanted to hear, but your buying from a stranger in a forum and that is a huge risk with no feedback. I say keep looking.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Thanks for the feedback, bro.. At least I have some human intervention on this rather than deciding by myself.. My judgement got clouded by the good price :)

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

When did Rambo 3 jump so high in value? Granted he is the best Rambo figure, but I didn't expect that much of a jump this soon.

happened about a year ago i think? i too was shocked...

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

It's a Holy Grail now, at least for collectors here in the Philippines. I don't know anyone in our country (at least in my knowledge) that owns a HT Rambo 3. It's that hard, at least here. :(

And been searching the bowels of eBay for the fairest deal, as all HT Rambo 3's are now US$300 up excluding shipping. That's too high, considering that I see some Rambo 3 sellers here in Sideshow Freaks (which I just joined 2 days ago) selling it for US$200-US$250 only.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I have a HT Rambo 3 and M65..doubt i will sell them,i think these are coming with me to Hell.
