Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Well, if they do indeed make a DX, if it succeeds, maybe we'll luck out and they'll do more to cash in on Rambo 5 hype.

At this point, I just really want Rambo 4 more than anything, as badass looking as my statue will be once it's repainted, and it'll represent a 12" version of that film in my collection, it doesn't look like an HT figure and I'd just enjoy the symetry of having all figures from the movies too.

Look at this setup, what's missing :tap

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Nice Setup,i have like 3 of Rambo 3,2 of Rambo 2,1 halo,Trautman.2 First Blood,2 M65 Jacket(1 Sealed in Box).

I used to display Rambo 3 with halo jacket on Horse, but i got quickly tired of it:lol

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Someday I'll get around to making a poncho for my First Blood, I just think it needs a particular cloth to look right, but not common stuff.

Ultimately, I want a figure of each look that really stands out in my mind, that's why I took the tank off my Rambo 3, for all my life, when I think of Rambo 2 and 3, it's shirtless with the bow and arrow, First Blood with the poncho, and RAMBO with him on the top of the hill in t-shirt and pants with machette in hand. I also like the M65 look though, the opening sequence of First Blood is classic, and one of my most favorite pieces of music in a movie, I'd love if HT did DX Rambo and included jeans and a jacket to have his M65 look, to have the start and end appearance of Rambo in the collection would be awesome. I got goosebumps when I first saw RAMBO and they cut to the shot of him from the back walking towards his home, somehow, as much as his hair changed with age, from that view, it looked just like it did in 1981.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Your Rambo collection is wicked! Will the Hot Toys pt. 2 be going after the PF arrives?

No Rambo piece of mine will ever go, hell, I still have this

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Love those figures and the statue!
I am still secretly pining away for a stick fighter version:D

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I wanted to play stick fighter as a kid, probably not the best for a kid as young as I was to be watching Rambo 3 :lol I had these pieces of wood scrap to play with and one was about a foot long "pipe" of wood and being very imaginative, my first thought was, hmmm, stick fighting :lol Good thing I never followed through haha. I did use to run around the house with my toy machine guns and my bathrobe belt tied around my head :lol

:lol:lol. Me and my friends used to have Cap Gun Wars. If you were hit, you had to sit down for 1 min before you could get back in the game. It felt so real with the piercing sound of the caps. I wish I could still play that actually.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I had a machine gun that shot rubber darts, pretty much exactly like a Batman gun I had, the Batman one shot better though :lol

I had this figure when I was a kid. For some reason, probably greed :lol, I sold it off at a yard sale, then like 4 years later I bought a new one from a collector because I badly wanted a Rambo figure again :lol, right about the time I finally saw Rambo 2 and First Blood.

For years, all I ever saw was Rambo 3 because it had been on TV so with the editing, I could watch that one but it was awhile before I was allowed to see the others because I could only get the uncut versions. I used to wonder why the figure had a red bandana when it was black in Rambo 3, and I wondered where the necklace came from. Partly why I favor the Rambo 2 look too, between the figure from the cartoon and the cartoon itself, I was heavily exposed to the red bandana look and to me that's just Rambo.

For awhile I had this really crappy GI Joe / Star Wars sized 4" Rambo, but he couldn't hold weapons, didn't even have them, I borrowed them from GI Joes, but I had fun with it.

I'm Rambo fanatic enough, I even own DVD's of the cartoon :lol

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

:lol

I have that figure somewhere. Didn't that company make a bunch of movie figures? I have a Terminator that's in the same style/packaging.

Very short lived. At one time, another company had done up prototypes for the same scale figure, much better than the N2 figures, and they had one for each movie, but they never went into production. N2 also made a really lame looking 12" figure, it was so bad I could never bring myself to get it, the 7" was bad enough, but compared to the 80's toy I had, it was an upgrade :lol

Wow..Dvd's of the cartoon>? I did not know there was a cartoon

Yeah, Rambo was the leader of this group of freedom fighters, led by Trautman, it was him, a woman and another dude fighting against this evil organization, it was almost like GI Joe just using Rambo, but it used music from Rambo 2 for the score, had a cool suiting up sequence like Rambo 2 in the opening credits. I found the DVD's at Walmart one day in like the $10 bin.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

:monkey2 God that figure takes me back, I still remember the day my mom came home with 2 MOC for me and my little brother. I LOVED that figure!!!

I still have him, and a Trautman I picked up from my old collectibles dealer, it's beat up and without his accessories, but I have a Rambo 2 look Trautman at least in my collection, dare I say the portrait might look more Crenna than the pictures I've seen of Hot Toys'.

I dunno, I thought the Hot Toys Trautman had a decent likeness. (Similar to Kyle Reese's quality and paint) In hand I think you'd see good likeness.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I've still got that one, as well as the bad guy with the muscle shirt and sunglasses. I also have a Commando figure (with cloth pants!) that used to fight Rambo.

One of Rambo's nemeses/friends had a missile launcher similar to the one in this pic, that was the most dangerous toy I had as a kid. The spring was so tight and powerful that the missile would literally shoot across the room and smack against the wall with a thud. :lol

I think that's why the pull string had the ball on it to keep the rocket from flying away :lol
