Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Unlikely, they don't make figures so they wouldn't have rights to products they don't make.

I don't think it's a matter of Rambo 4 being a hard license to get since HCG and Master Cutlery have put out products, as well as Japanese merchandisers putting out a book and the book also lists some items for sale.

I think to some extent, it might be companies feeling that the older version may not be marketable, hopefully not. With HT it might have been lack of a body for it, but now they have hte Barney body which would work great so there's nothing they don't have to make it, just have to get the license and do it.

One thing with the licensing that probably does make things tricky, Rambo 1-3 are listed on the back of the BR quadrilogy as being owned by Studio Canal, where Rambo 4 is listed as Millennium / Nu Image.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

does HCG have exclusive rights to Rambo IV merchandise since they are the only ones making anything?

Thanks, damn that poll was a while back. I hate when HT teases us and leave us hanging :lol we should all be used to it.

thanks Maulfan, isn't Millenium Nu Image the same factory that put out Expendables so wouldn't they be okay with licensing the Rambo IV then? unless its the Weinsten that's stopping it

this is just hypotheitcal but could it be an issue with the knife because with the Barney figure remember we didnt get the Hibben Toothpick but the Rambo 3 knife and Hibben also made the machete for Rambo 4 and it would be inconveivable to make a figure with that essential missing?

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I'm sure the Barney figure sold well and so did the previous Rambo figures. So a Rambo 4 is a no brainer.

Then again, i'm sure a Expendables Statham would sell like made too, but HT blew that figure off.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Enterbay is going to be a 1/4 scale Rambo 3.

I thought so. :( I know EB is avoiding competiton w/ HT that's why they're into 1/4th scale nowadays but I'm sure they can best HT's take on their 1/6th scale Rambo III since that figure is already old. I really hope they will change the scale into 1/6 so that it can fit well in my collection.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

The only thing i feel could be bettered on HT Rambo 3 is the body, sculpt, paint, costume and accessories were ahead of their time and hild up today.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Hot Toys is too busy with the Iron Man series. I just need a part 4 then I'm all good.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

So the 'topic of the day' yesterday was that someone in the Chinese forums by the name of Tommy Wang (former HT employee), leaked that there will be a HT Rocky DX figure.

Here's to hoping down the line, anytime in 2012, we'll see either a HT Rambo 4 or, better yet, a Rambo DX!

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

So it's B.S.? Who's Tommy Wong anyway? Was he really a "former" Hot Toys employee? Too bad I can't read/write Chinese, to understand.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Tomm Wong was the guy that took pics of upcoming HT figures for Milk Magazine. Last I heard he wasn't doing it anymore, but he still puts up screenshots and lists which people misinterpret as upcoming products.

I finally got myself a HT First Blood M65 Jacket version. Can't wait to find time to unleash him! :)

I have a question for my fellow Rambo freaks.. In the box, it shows that Rambo has a right hand with the index finger pointed (good for holding the SleepingBag string). I checked my box (It was sealed & unopened when I got it), and I had normal grasping hands instead. Does anybody else share this difference? Your feedback is greatly appreciated. :rock

M65 comes with only 2 hands, both are gripping fists, no trigger finger hand, HT changed it from the proto pics.

Also, if you're going for film accurracy, Rambo carries the sleeping bag over his left shoulder.

Thanks Sean. I did notice the left-shoulder carrying in the movie. :)

I also noticed that the string wrapped around the Sleeping Bag is longer than what's shown on the box. How do you tie it so that the Sleeping Bag hangs upright & not dangling?
