Thanks Pjam! I've been waiting a long time for this one and the posing was like a celebration for me... So nice to have more balance on the shelf. Poor Luke was sooo lonely. :monkey2

Not anymore!

Great pics, Josh!!!

What did you do specifically for the hair? Also, do you lose much poseability with the cotton balls in the hips?

Thanks SL! No, surprisingly the hips worked perfect. No loss of movement whatsoever. I actually used flat cotton swabs instead of balls and they worked better for me.

As for the hair, I just mixed up some light brown, pulled out the poofiest round tip brush I had and drybrushed very lightly over the head until it looked right. I did another layer with some yellow mixed in for a faint highlight. And to finish, a super light layer of regular brown to blend it all.... It turned out better than I thought.

I also soaked the clothing and stretched the jacket. I then folded the collar of the jacket a little too and let it dry for a while. Then I put the still damp clothes onto the figure and let them hang naturally until dry. It helped the jacket a lot, now it does not seem as short as it did right out of the box.

Oh, and I forgot... I used a very small brush to do the hairline... darkest shade of brown I had....(before the drybrushing...of course.) :D

Flat cotton swabs? What exactly are those? I've only ever seen regular cotton balls in the stores.

Also, what brand and shades of paints? I'm considering going back to buy Han in a month or two, but I'll probably want to lighten the hair and fix the hairline. I just want to go into it as prepared as possible so I don't botch it like I almost botched Anakin's lips (which really look natural now after all these months, thankfully)

DA, SS Body or Hasbro body? Also what's the best water temp to stretch the jacket, colder or hotter? Great Great pics, I'm really excited now!

Just unroll the cotton ball so they are more like strips. Then just tear them into the sizes you need.

It's the standard SS body, no switcharoo.... And hot water is best IMO, fabric is more pliable and you don't get clammy hands... :lol

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! I'm really glad you all like him so much!

Great pics DA and thanks for inspiring me to do the same. I hope I don't mess it up too badly.

Just got my Han today and I think it looks great. All the negative criticism about the headsculpt is completely unwarranted IMO.

I do have a question I hope someone can answer: is the strap on his holster that goes around his leg meant to open or do you have to start at his boot and slide it up his leg?

I've been scared to put his belt on because I don't want to pull that strap apart only to find out it isn't meant to open.

The strap is not meant to open, so you can slide it up his leg. You can try to slide it over his boot, but be careful. The leg strap on mine came detached and had to be glued back with superglue.

I ended up taking the boot off to put the holster on, but I had a really hard time getting the boot back on his foot without messing up the holster again. In the end, I heated up the boot using a hair dryer and was able to slide it back on fairly easily after that.

Haha, I bought that exact same paint DA! Walmart, right? :)

Indeed!! :lol It's actually great stuff! I seriously have to get some more. It's not as glossy or thick as the Liquitex...

And nice one Khev! It does remind me of that, now that you mention it.... Now I am gonna have to do some Han as a Jedi pics!!

Gotta love it, way to go Hurricane.

Wish there was some way SSC could make a Chewie which looks like yours and Wor-Gar's, guess we'll have to wait, but it has to be done IMO. :D
