My Superman Returns!

Okay boys and girls. I recently had the great Les Walker (Figuremaster Les) repaint my HT SR and then followed his excellent tutorial to do a "heel lift" so he is now taller than the HT BB. I took a number of pics and will be posting them very soon so stay tuned!

Man! What a tease! :lol

Okay, let's start with a portrait of the FigureMaster Les Walker repaint.

And here is a reference shot to show the SR "heel lift" height difference. The HT SR is now taller than the HT BB, although Bats has a mask and looks taller you can see the hands, shoulders and eye level of the SR figure is higher now.

And a final check before calling it a night -- uh oh, more trouble...

Been great flying with you all...

Great Ceasar's Ghost pjam! Those shots show off Les' work to the point that I now have repaint envy. The Figuremaster has really fleshed out the Hot Toys' sculpt.

Nice posing and composition, by the way. All good but "Day flight... first shot..." is my fav.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Once again, Les shows what an artist he is. Great shots, Pjam.

I just got this figure and let me tell you its amazing. I was only going to get the MediCom version and the HT version never really appealed to me over the net because the pics I thought made the face look bad but after PreOrdering the HT Clark, I decided to go back for big blue. Let's just say know that they are side by side, its really obvious that the HT one is really better. Especially looking at the repaints on these boards. All it does though is make me want a 1/6th Christopher Reeve Superman to go with him though...

I felt in the same way when I bought this figure. HT Superman is amazing. I will go for HT Clark for sure!
I hope Chris Reeve Superman goes as soon as possible :monkey2

I don't know - Medicom's 1/6 movie Spidey was pretty good. The raised webbing, the extra hands, everything about it was great except that the boots weren't flexible enough for him to get in the extreme Spidey poses.
I'm coming to this discussion a little late but there's one major problem with Medicom movie Spidey not mentioned, he's incredibly short. Much smaller then the comic version.
Another issue is that I feel the head is a little too round.
It would've been perfect if it was just a little taller and the head was better shaped.
I doubt HT would make a Spider-Man from the movie but I feel we can expect another one from Medicom.

Yeah, I loved my HT Supes.... and wish I had not been so stupid and sold him. Maybe one day I can get another one...:monkey2

Seriously one of the best figures of all time. Amazing, especially after a repaint.

Yea, the SR Newspaper is great. A buddy of mine knows one of the writers of SR, so I was lucky enough to get my newspaper signed by Bryan Singer and Brandon Routh. Great and classic Superman memrobilia.

That's great ck! :D

Yeah, they all did a great job with the reboot...and I loved it but unfortunatly it didn't realize it's potential and this was due to the conception of the story... or lack thereof, centering it around a single Mom, the kid, the heavy leaning on Donners films, only three actions scenes and the deletion of his trip to Krypton? This was "Your Mommies Superman" and it's now painfully obvious fanboys were left unsatisfied.

I lay the blame on Singer who conceived the story and was lazy in his approach. (When Mario Puzo wrote STM, he spent weeks researching comic book libraries storylines, meeting with Superman historians, etc. to come up with a new approach) Not Singer, he wasn't even a fan of Superman as a kid (note how Goyen and Nolan were huge Batman fans and took that franchise in a new direction, faithful to its origins) Not here, Singer just reworked the original movie plotline (Lex Luthor devises a real estate scheme which would imperil America -- let's face it, it is the same plotpoint) and it was lazy and derivitive/redundant...

I know Singer has been hired to direct the sequel and no offense to anyone but I hope WB hires new writers (Zaillian, etc) for the sequel and keeps Singer OUT of the writing/creative process, his sensibilities are not what is needed for this sequel and may prove to be a liability IMO.

This Superman has to kick some serious ass and go in a completely new direction... just my .02

I agree 100%. I remember reading a review of SR saying that this was almost a remake of Superman: The Movie with better special effects and a lois with a kid. So many plot elements and concepts were already scene before. What's the point of seeing the same movie again? I was counting down the days for SR and was I must say dissapointed. The concept with Superman having a son was a great new twist for the Superman Mythos, but too bad the rest of the movie was not. Hope they sequel provides unique elements and a great story. **But I'm trying not to hold my breath**
