Just wanted to post that this is the figure that got me started buying Hot Toys.

I was not action figure collector before I started collecting HT. I agreed to meet a friend in front of comic store and while I was waiting for him, I went into the store to look around and then saw the Mark 1 displayed. At first I thought it was a statue due to the detail and realism of the figure, but then I asked the clerk and he said it was actually a movable action figure....I couldn't believe it...immediatley I knew that I had to own him and ended up buying 2. I am now a full blown HT addict...thanks, (or in the case of my wife, no thanks), to Mark 1.

Now sell the other one to me!! :)

LOL...I had no idea this would ever go up in value...I bought 2 just so I can have one to pose and display and another boxed in perfect condition. I love this figure so much that I want to have one in perfect mint shape always.

I do have a question for anyone who owns this...my figure does not light up...is there something I need to do to the batteries to make it work. I noticed there is a piece of clear plastic surrounding the batteries...is this supposed to be taken off?

Thanks

That's probably the clear plastic tab that keeps a separation between the batteries until it is ready to display. If you pull the tab out, the lights should work.

I thought I was pretty lucky. Having been in the hobby around a year now, I picked up the HT OC Bats a few months back and felt pretty satisfied that this was the last grail I'd have to hunt for. Zero interest, thanks heavens, in the preds, robocop, wolverine and all the other figures fetching outrageous prices nowadays.

Then I saw a pic of Mark 1 that I hadn't seen before and somehow this one pic flicked a switch in my brain. It was like I'd never seen the awesomeness in this figure until now.

Now that's all I can see. The awesomeness. But I can't see myself shelling out what MK1 now goes for. This figure will be my unattainable grail, the one that will one day be purchased when I find a suitcase full of cash... or win the lottery, or get a promotion well beyond my expectations. There's some poetry in that, the collection that is one figure away from being my ideal.

But bugger the poetry, I'm wishing I had this figure :lol

I wish you lots of luck. :)

This fig is awesome indeed.

Thanks kaidoy021 & Boba Ben!

I've had this figure for over a year and I never thought of removing that plastic...probably because I still don't have a place to display him so I never fully investigated why he didn't light up.

If you ever got to handle one in person, another flick would switch and you would beg, borrow or steal to get one...he is that awesome!
