Sometimes I sand the ends to make them rough and that helps, too. It really helps on smooth surfaces.

I'm with P!tu on not using figure stands. I only use 'em for figures that can't stand on their own, like if they're too top heavy or their leg joints aren't stiff enough to hold a pose. I've found that the Preds are all pretty well-balanced and can hold a pose under their own weight if you futz around with them a little. They just look a lot better that way too, imho.:D

Wise words from the Master regarding use of metal wire or pins to fortify broken parts! I'd recommend using brass rod if you can find it. It's more rigid than most wire, but can be bent to shape with a needle-nose pliers if necessary. You can get it in different gauges (thicknesses) for different jobs requirements. It's especially good for parts that receive a fair amount of stress. I've used it to strengthen broken leg, arm and ankle posts on a few of my most favorite figures, and in most cases they're even stronger than before. It's worth considering if you don't want to hassle with sending parts back and waiting for those replacements to arrive.

Got my Pred 2 tonight and I think I need to get the elder from part 2. The only problem I had with mine was his belt. When I pulled it apart to put it on him the tab broke off. But other than that I had fun putting him together. I will get some pics up tomorrow.

HOLY ****! Look what came in the mail today!!! 14 inches of total badassery!!!!! I have to, HAVE to get the Elder! THIS THING IS SICK! Thank you to everyone for the tips, NOTHING broke! And a special thank you to P!TU for making his video on this figure, which convinced me to buy it.

A little tip for those who use the bases. Replace the steel loop with one from a Sideshow stand. The SST loop has a stand-off that the HT loop lacks, which allows for better pose-ability and stability. If you don't have a spare SST loop, I should think that you could add a stand-off to the HT loop with a large vise(or ,lacking a vice, maybe a door?). I'll have to give it a try and report back on the results...PS

I usually read your coments about figures and i don´t want to say nothing because i wacth so many toy forums (moviemaniacs, spawn, statue collectors) but today i received my predator 2 figure and i have to say that i am really impressed with the quality of this figure. Is really amazing and you have to look it for yourself to know how is a perfect recreation of the movie monster.

Also i have to say that i have other hot toys figures like:

Scar predator
Celtic predator
Rocky balboa
Rambo first blood part 2
Rambo 3
Terminator endoskelleton (normal)
Terminator endoskelleton (battle damaged)
Hicks from aliens

I still want to get that Predator 2 figure from Hot Toys! I think it looks awesome! I hope Hot Toys makes a Predator from the first movie someday. :D

Chances are that they will. The Elder Predator is basically the P1 Predator with added accessories and different painted armor and head.

All they'd have to do is sculpt some new hands(Preferably fist hands, for once), the P1 Mask and head and there you go.

Chances are that they'll probably reuse the 'Jerry Lambert' skull and spine from the P2 Predator and have it as Billy's skull and spine.

Shouldn't be that much weapons though, since the first one only had the plasmacaster and wristblades...

By all means grab yourself one of these before they start getting scarce (and more expensive), bro. You will not regret it. The P2 Elder is already sold out on many sites, and it looks like he'll probably end up going for insanely high prices before long, just like Hicks. If you possibly can, get 'em both now, or you'll be kicking yourself later on down the road!

Christmas came early for me today with the arrival of not one but two parcels from Sideshow Toys ! The smaller of the two is still un-opened ( no reflection on the quality of the figure, it being Sideshow's Asaj Ventress ), but the largest box had me almost indecently excited as I knew it contained the new Hot Toys Predator 2 ! And it must be said , my excitement didn't subside when I saw the contents of the box . This is Hot Toys best Predator so far , no question about it . A lot of people have issues with the previous releases ( from the AvP movie) , I don't , I love 'em all , but even the most die-hard Predator fan would be hard pressed to find fault with this figure . Early worries about the faces paint application are unfounded as it is superb . Photos really don't do it justice , but take it from me , "in hand" it looks fantastic ! Hot Toys are definately not resting on their laurels as the only thing re-used here is the base body and again , the paint job is top class and the glossy finish is really authentic .

( Oops , in my haste I forgot to take pics with the mask off!)
The assembly of the figure follows the usual pattern , that's to say it's a pain in the arse and I definately recommend you have a hair dryer handy to soften up the armour . The belt/codpiece was especially frustrating, but eventually it did play ball and remained in position . It's just a matter of patience and judicious use of the above hair dryer . Accuracy is the name of the game here as every piece of armour , clothing , weaponry and accessory is perfectly reproduced . Even by Hot Toys high standards , this figures attention to detail is staggering and the only downside is that now I have to wait for the next release , the Elder from the same movie !

Talking about the predator 2 figure, did your predator arrive with any scratchs on the paint? mine arrived with a little paint chips on one finger and a little on a foot.
