Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I bet another SDCC exclusive from NECA this year will be the frozen T-1000. It'll simply be a repaint with a frosty look but I'll still buy it.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Honestly, after seeing that I'm more excited about Motorcycle Cop T-1000 than Tech Noir T-800.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I just saw on neca's twitter, if this series does well, like the others, Kyle Reese will be in series 3! NECA_TOYS NECA
@ @PaulRJackson prob not Sarah. If Series 1 & 2 do well Series 3 will include Reese.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

At least someone will make him :yess:

I can't see these figures doing any less well than the ones we've gotten so far so I'm pretty optimistic for Reese at 7" at least.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Awesome! Finally a Kyle!
Now, let's speculate on what other figures will be in Series 3. Of course, more than likely, it will be other T-800 variations.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I hope he comes with the Michael Bean Liceness and in 2 Versions.
1984 and 2029.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Theres a few different 1984 versions of Kyle they could do because isn't his coat from earlier in the film different from the one later in the film? Plus things like bandaged wounds, bloodied face etc. Perhaps even one without a coat on with just that sleeveless vest. However I don't see NECA making multiple variations of Reese. I'd say the Tech Noir one is the only guarantee.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Yeah, isn't it like a blue coat that he picks up after the Police Station?

There's like 2-3 variations of Kyle Reese that NECA could make,

- Future Kyle
- 1984 Kyle

And that's it. Sure it'd be interesting to see a "battle damaged" Reese or one without the coat, or the blue but would that really be that popular? His variations are no where near as intriguing as the T-800 or T-1000.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Yeah essentially. There probably wouldn't be quite enough interest for NECA to consider it worthwhile covering all the possibilities with Reese. Even myself an obsessive fan amn't entirely familiar with the difference between his first coat and his second coat. Didn't even know he used 2 different coats in the film till recently so....

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

@a-dev, have you Pics from this versions ?

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

No not really. Why the hell did he do that to the figure? At least do it to a non-BD version of T-800 to pretend its a 'model 101 version' of the T-1000 but even then.....why?

When I first saw T2 as a kid, I fully expected the T-1000 to take Ahnulds form. Not sure why.

I've always been fascinated with that "what if" scenario.

I don't see a particular reason why it didn't try that. I know it can't form complex machines with moving parts but it wouldn't have to recreate the internal T-800 mechanics just the external appearance :dunno Even when the T-800 took on visible surface damage all you could see was exposed metal not working joints, pistons etc. Why couldn't the T-1000 mimic the appearance of that?

Especially when Cameron considered an Arnold CSM 101 T-800 vs Arnold CSM 101 T-800 early on for T2 before 1991.

It would have been interesting, it's always been one of those things I've thought about. I could just picture the T-1000 mimicking him at the Steel Mill to fool John (surely the T-1000 heard John's distress when Uncle Bob told them to leave) like he did with Sarah then having a T-800 vs "T-800" fight scene.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Well I'm glad they didn't do it, I'd rather see Robert Patrick T-1000 versus T-800 like we got than Arnie versus Arnie.

Cameron probably didn't do it because he didn't want to add that kind of confusion at the end of the film, not to mention the headache of getting 2 Arnies on the screen at once in combat against eachother. With the 'in-movie' explanation being the aforementioned T-1000 ''can't form complex machines'' even though there would seem to be a way around that.

A scenario I've pondered briefly aswell is what if a T-1000 was created in Arnie's model 101 image. Probably no reason Skynet couldn't do that, simply a case of why would it.
