Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

This better have T2 series 1 and 2 QC rather than T2 series 3 QC. Most of the T-1000s I bought broke at either the shoulder or elbow, or both. One head even broke off, it was ridiculous.

I hear ya!
I had my T-1000 on the shelf for a whole year then just the other day I decided to position his arms a little different. *SNAP!* The arm came right off at the elbow.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

This isn't a T2 figure :dunno

And ?
This is the T1 1984 T-800 was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
And the Likeness ists Bad.
You see not Arnold in the Sculpt.

Neca make better Schwarzenegger Figures, e.g. the Conan Figures.

I think the angle the picture is taken hides the part in his hair. That's why some people say the likeness is off. Looks great to me. Hurry up, June!
So much awesome stuff coming from NECA in the next few weeks including series 1 of these figures, the 1/4 scale Predator, and Predator series 3 with Elder.

tankman must have not sculpted these, they look little off or maybe it's the skin tone.

That may be.
Nevertheless, Neca should have given some trouble with the honest face.
The body looks really good.
But a Terminator lives just by the similarity to Scharzenegger.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Looks fine to me... Maybe you guys aren't used to seeing him with long hair :dunno

You can always go with hot toys!

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I think it's cuz he's so well lit in that photo, there's like no shadow on the face, the Arnie defining facial features don't show.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I can tell right now that the .45 long slide is going to be as brittle as glass. I can already see complaints from people saying that the scope snapped.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I actually think the paint apps look good in this shot - at least as good as it gets at this scale. We'll be lucky if the ones we end up with look like that IMO.

I'd say they look clean, but not good. Good paint apps would draw out the likeness of the sculpt. That's not the case here. :huh

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

"clean" is good paint apps... They may not be detailed enough, but to me "clean" is well-done.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Sadly 'clean' is good at this scale these days.

Yup, when ya can't even get clean paint, it's too much to hope for something that really enhances the scilpt work. What sucks is the paint is usually fine or even really nice from the neck down, heads are the trouble area.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

See, I'm the opposite. Clean means no slop. Good paint apps compliment the likeness. :huh

Well yeah I agree with you. I'm just saying, as Maulfan said above, 'clean', non-messy paint is about as good as we get at this scale nowadays and too often we don't even get that.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Of the T2 figures, my T-1000s had the worst paint but some T-800s had issues too.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Some of my T-800s look like they're supposed to be cartoon characters the way the eyes and lips are painted. No subtlety at all in the paintwork. So even without mess thats what we get.
