Proportion-wise it's not quite there, Neca has it beat there, but it's a nice figure nonetheless.

The fact that it still holds up well enough for comparisons with a recent figure speaks very well of the McF one.

It's mostly in the chest and the head for the McFarlane one. The head is too small and the chest is slightly the wrong shape. As well, a lot of the detail work like the "stamped metal" indentations are in the slightly in the wrong area or the wrong size and shape.

I understand NECA's may have trouble standing, but looking at the two side by side, NECA looks like the movie robot much more than McFarlane, I don't know what McFarlane based theirs on.

I could be mistaken, but hasn't Tankman claimed Todd didn't really care about accuracy?

Well I do know McFarlane's done stuff without full licensing, if I recall correct they released a Scream Ghost Face figure without a license for it and I thought I heard something fishy with the T2 T-800 and thus no Arnold likeness, cuz they did Sarah and T-1000 fine and I believe T2 license comes with Arnold's likeness unlike T1 and other films.

Yeah the way I remember it. They had the license for the Ghostface costume but not the movie. That's why there was running change to the package and poster changing it from SCREAM to Ghostface. I think tried to bypass Arnold and Robert Patrick royalties by using the damaged special EFX props as their base of their scuplts . That's why there wasn't a normal head for either Terminator. Arnolds people denied them and they opted to damage the T-800s headsculpt further.

I could be remembering things wrong but I thought Arnold backed out last minute on that figure cause he was getting touchy about having his likeness associated with guns. Which is why the Mattel Jack Slater figure didn't come with one. Funny that a little after that t2 figure, t3 came out and mcf did a full line with likeness and s-load of guns

It's all about the contracts that are signed, T3 may have signed him with little input on merchandise where T2 may have given him more control.

I recently learned that Ghost Face was a full on costume prior to Scream and the filmmakers found it and used it but the costume shop holds the copyrights to the design so you could do a figure paying only them if you make no mention of the film.

I was so disappointed when I saw the final headsculpt on that Movie Maniacs 4 T-800. Nevertheless I bought it and still had quite a bit of enthusiasm for it as it was of a much higher standard than anything else I'd ever had by that time. And with the NECA head it remains a favourite even today.

How easy is a head transplant?

Not all that easy by my experience. I used the plug from a spare NECA T-800 which after the operation was rendered

the plug fits perfectly into the McFarlane torso but as I said it's a case of destroying one figure to help another one reach its full potential.

My local TRU still hasn't gotten the Genisys figures yet, a local comic shop has them but want $8 more than TRU, but I'm almost getting impatient. The figure looks much nicer in person than any photos I've seen of it so far, I definitely want it.

Too bad they moved the pistol grip hand from the left to the right for some inexplicable reason. Looks weird with the holster over on the other side.

I don't think it's a case of them ''moving'' it, more that they simply aren't providing a pistol-holding left hand - they provided both a left and right trigger hand with the previous T-1000 figures (I think)

Figure looks good. The legs do kinda look shorter so I think this one might be shorter overall than the earlier figures just like the Ultimate T-800. The fully split head would have been a better choice than the mid-healing one though. That mid-heal head looks weird because, as people may recall from the previous release, one side of the face is separately molded and glued onto the other, with a very obvious seam. There was no such weirdness with the fully split head and the visual impact of that one is greater anyway; I would think most people would have preferred it.

I will certainly buy one anyway. I'd love to replace a few of my older figures all of which suffered breakages and/or warping of the legs but I feel like that's rewarding NECA for the **** up the previous Galleria and Pescadero T-1000 figures were.
