Broke and happy
he really does
Kyle Reese definitely needs to be re-done. He ended up looking like a who from whoville.
NECA Grinch figure assortment when
From simply a toy perspective, I don't see how the left pair wouldn't be just as successful (or even more successful) than the right.
damnit i just replaced everything with long ones. i'm not falling for accuracy nowNailed it. Also that picture affirms for me that the legs on the Hot Toys bodies are too long for Arnold. Short footpegs needed for all.
As much as I'd love a Future Reese and an Endo with a better body/build construction, I can see not making them, whatever. A John Connor and updated '84 Kyle Reese are pretty important though. While I'd love a T1 Sarah, I get how untoyetic she'd be. I'm happy to have her character represented with that Sarah Connor (which was "Ultimate" right out of the gate in every sense of the word with all those options). To me, the line is incomplete without John and a better Kyle Reese. If I could just get those two, I'd be happy.
When Mcfarlane had the T2 license and they showed this pic, I almost died and went to Nerd heaven:

I agree, they've done fantastically for us Aliens and Robots fans, leaving everyone else in the dust. And they've tackled other classic 80s licenses aswell, I'm thinking Rocky, Rambo, Conan, Gremlins, even E.T. Going back further they've done Planet of the Apes. Unfortunately most of these weren't big successes for them - Rocky must have done reasonably well that those figures are being reissued and Gremlins is an ongoing line. I think the others are dead though. But, y'know, they tried all those rather than just finding a money-maker and going with that to the exclusion of everything else.
I've thought about that aswell, the part in bold. I mean the upcoming rosebox figure would have been an ideal companion release for a John Connor but there they go blowing that opportunity. But maybe that won't stop them putting out yet another Galleria T-800 if/when they put out John. I can envision a T-800 and John 2 pack ala Ripley and Newt and the T-800 could get that new mid-torso joint from the 1:4 figure.
As far as exhausting the well of Arnold variants - not just yet actually, there's some from T1 they could do - one very distinct (eye surgery scene) and one not so distinct (Motel attack with jacket zipped up, technically the tanker truck version should also have a zipped up jacket). For T2 they could yet do an Ultimate Steel Mill T-800 and a SWAT assault version (no knee damage yet, teargas launcher)
Trouble is I'm not sure they care enough anymore to go ahead and do these, not with the way Randy talks about Terminator. Would he even think of some of these variants let alone consider them worthwhile making? And you know his stance on anything outside the Cameron films.
It's hilarious that Randy won't go near T3 or Salvation yet they made figures from Genisys.

Don't think so. It's a different license & not part of our existing deal

@NECA_TOYS Any chance you'll eventually touch on T3 since you guys have been willing to figs based on the weaker Predator and Alien movies?

Honestly I can see why these haven't been made. They're all pretty close to existing versions. They'd pretty much be filler for a wave, and with nothing more substantial to achor a line I don't expect to see them.
bad news again
Someone on Twitter should flat out ask what that was for.
