From simply a toy perspective, I don't see how the left pair wouldn't be just as successful (or even more successful) than the right.

Nailed it. Also that picture affirms for me that the legs on the Hot Toys bodies are too long for Arnold. Short footpegs needed for all.
damnit i just replaced everything with long ones. i'm not falling for accuracy now :)

As much as I'd love a Future Reese and an Endo with a better body/build construction, I can see not making them, whatever. A John Connor and updated '84 Kyle Reese are pretty important though. While I'd love a T1 Sarah, I get how untoyetic she'd be. I'm happy to have her character represented with that Sarah Connor (which was "Ultimate" right out of the gate in every sense of the word with all those options). To me, the line is incomplete without John and a better Kyle Reese. If I could just get those two, I'd be happy.

I dunno, I'd like to think the Newt scenario might work for T1 Sarah aswell.

When Mcfarlane had the T2 license and they showed this pic, I almost died and went to Nerd heaven:

I was blown away by that at the time - apart from, of course, the hair. Always thought it was too short. Now though even the face doesn't look all that good.

I was previously about getting all my T-800s the same height - that meant some figures had short pegs and some had long pegs. However now I'm more about getting the internal proportions more accurate for each Arnie - it pretty much means using short pegs for all figures even if some figures end up being shorter than others overall.

Finally got Pops today and now have every NECA Terminator I want from what they've made. Did some custom blood and metal paint to give him more damage on the face like the movie and make the exposed Endo area seem more the films where it was a practical effect.

It amazes me that NECA have not taken advantage of the Terminator line with all the comics, books and movies they have to draw from yet seem to want to stick like death to the first two. Is this all Randy's preference or just that no one else likes the other movies or comics ? I know Salvation and Genesis had their haters, but some of the robot designs were pretty cool I thought.

I agree, they've done fantastically for us Aliens and Robots fans, leaving everyone else in the dust. And they've tackled other classic 80s licenses aswell, I'm thinking Rocky, Rambo, Conan, Gremlins, even E.T. Going back further they've done Planet of the Apes. Unfortunately most of these weren't big successes for them - Rocky must have done reasonably well that those figures are being reissued and Gremlins is an ongoing line. I think the others are dead though. But, y'know, they tried all those rather than just finding a money-maker and going with that to the exclusion of everything else.

Still hugely fond of the Bioshock figure line. They got further into that than I'd expect nowadays too, though I'd love more. Sadly there is always something you wish had been made before the line ends. I can't be too frustrated with Neca because I never thought I'd have as many Terminator characters as I do already.

Fairly confident John will appear somewhen too.

I've thought about that aswell, the part in bold. I mean the upcoming rosebox figure would have been an ideal companion release for a John Connor but there they go blowing that opportunity. But maybe that won't stop them putting out yet another Galleria T-800 if/when they put out John. I can envision a T-800 and John 2 pack ala Ripley and Newt and the T-800 could get that new mid-torso joint from the 1:4 figure.

Rosebox Terminator was definitely the time to drop a John Connor figure. Missed opportunity there. I can only hope that the reissue was profitable enough to invest in something more interesting in future. This is how you theoritically pay for something more risky like John.

As far as exhausting the well of Arnold variants - not just yet actually, there's some from T1 they could do - one very distinct (eye surgery scene) and one not so distinct (Motel attack with jacket zipped up, technically the tanker truck version should also have a zipped up jacket). For T2 they could yet do an Ultimate Steel Mill T-800 and a SWAT assault version (no knee damage yet, teargas launcher)

Trouble is I'm not sure they care enough anymore to go ahead and do these, not with the way Randy talks about Terminator. Would he even think of some of these variants let alone consider them worthwhile making? And you know his stance on anything outside the Cameron films.

Honestly I can see why these haven't been made. They're all pretty close to existing versions. They'd pretty much be filler for a wave, and with nothing more substantial to achor a line I don't expect to see them. I'll pick up a T-800 with the tear gas launcher. T2 makes you oddly fond of all the weapons.

I would be down for a Pescadero Sarah too. Still don't understand why 2029 Kyle and John aren't on Neca's radar.

It's hilarious that Randy won't go near T3 or Salvation yet they made figures from Genisys.

I want a T3 Arnold, and a TX, maybe a T600.

I still can't understand why wouldn't Randy choose to create Aliens diorama pieces for fans, things like the hive wall and the lab would definitely sell, it seems like they are addicted to the Kenner lines now which is fine for me although I never bought one. However for movie fans which is me would want more movie based figures and dioramas for the upcoming release

NECA Retweeted Damn Chocobo - Rich

Don't think so. It's a different license & not part of our existing deal

@NECA_TOYS Any chance you'll eventually touch on T3 since you guys have been willing to figs based on the weaker Predator and Alien movies?

I was actually viewing those as the anchor figures in any given wave they would appear in :lol

A motel attack T-800 (with his jacket zipped up and belted and with a shoulder sling on the AR-18) may not look strikingly different from existing figures but it would be as recognisable as the Police Shootout version and as such it would attract just as much casual buyers alongside the obsessives like me who will buy everything. And they shouldn't really care that it's so similar to their previous Police Shootout figure as long as that figure is by then sold out - they're merely putting a popular Terminator back on the shelves.

As for the Eye Surgery look - sure, obviously a very scene-specific version to do but they did it for T2 with that Man or Machine figure. Released alongside Motel Attack T-800 it would do OK, it would sell slower maybe but so what, there's always something that sells slower than something else.

That's actually the best answer he's given on the subject of T3/T4 figures.

Gotta love this. The guy specifically asks about what their plans are for 7" figures only.

"Muh 4" Cinemachines micro machines"

"Muh blown up 18" Arnold"

So no plans. :lol

I went to a second toys r us after work today and once again every grid alien head was broken off in their double pack with the Predator.

Now that's battle damage lol.

I hope Randy saying they have "no plans" is still him being coy about a few surprises they might have in store for us at comic con. I know I'm being optimistic but The endo arm in the tube has to be for something. Someone on Twitter should flat out ask what that was for.

Someone on Twitter should flat out ask what that was for.

I did, he straight up ignored me. I asked at the same time he was answering my tweets (making sure to include the said photo too). In that time, he answered my tweets seconds/minutes before the Endo arm one and my tweets seconds/minutes after that Endo arm one, so surely he saw it.

Hell, it's just a reused Endo arm in a little plastic tube. Wouldn't surprise me if it's never brought up (or seen) again. It had to have been for John since he's always saying that a Terminator accessory pack is a tough sell and that there's nothing worthwhile to include in it. Unless it was for some kind of Ultimate Steel Mill Arnold, which would be really lame.

NECA has done more with T1 and T2 and its characters than any or company has or probably will. To think that John isn't going to be made because he's a "tough sell" is beyond frustrating. He's literally who T2 revolves around and one of the few characters they haven't done. They need to make that sh** happen.
