Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

They coulda painted the eyes, though!

I thought I'd read that the eyes weren't painted but I must have blocked it out and refused to believe they'd actually do that! That is ridiculous! I know the main reason behind having the sunglasses being a seperate piece is to avoid the problem on the 7" figure with the flesh coloured excess plastic but not painting the eyes behind the sunglasses is inexcusably cheap even for a lower-end 12".

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

Im glad they didnt drill 2 massive holes in the eye sockets in order to hold the sunnies in place.. like McFarlane did with their 12" T850

I must say... It's an excellent figure Tankman did a great job!

All customisers! great news about this figure~
Whats sweet about this figure is that Neca cast the head sculpt in 2 pieces. You can rip the hair off and you'll find an empty space there. You can even convert it into Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) if you are experienced in drilling.

DX T-800 here I come!

Just be careful with the paint on the hands....I was trying to pose the fig too much with the shotgun, and some flesh colored paint rubbed off...

I had the same issue. Funny the way the paint scratched onto the barrell of the shotgun but it won't >>>>ing scratch off :lol Oh well its not bothering me that much. Think I'll need to take a blowdryer to the hands to get the 2 handed pose.

Oh yeah, by the way, I got mine today! Incredible figure. Can't wait to start taking comparison pictures. Only problems I have, which I consider minor, are the odd tiny bit of paint where it shouldn't be, a slight bit of glue sheen by one ear, and the part of the sunglasses that go over the ear broke off on one side - easily rectifiable I expect as long as I don't have a glue mishap.

Good to hear you like it mate, bad to hear about the glasses issue, though, even if it is easily fixable!

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

Things of note:

-He's bigger, as in taller and a larger size overall than Dutch.
-He's a slightly smaller size than Sideshows T2 figures, their faces are bigger.
-Predator is, as we all knew by now anyway, way too small
-I haven't yet put him in 2 handed gun holding poses as the hands are tight.
-His hair is a darker shade than that of the 7", I'd prefer if it was lighter.
-The Sideshow T-800 looks more 'toylike' than this so-called toy. The SS head and neck are terrible - the hairline is different (read:wrong), he looks more like hes got an Elvis slicked back quiff than spiked hair. It cuts in too tight at the back of his head on SS too.

Wow!! Is RoboCop neck way too thin or what??

It is. One of the many reasons people wish HT would revisit that character.

Cool pics a-dev! Man, is the sideshow version bad or what :lol

Considering picking this up, for £25 it's truly unbeatable.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

And thats after I bulked him up to a more Arnie-esque size and reduced his ridiculous polo neck T-shirt. After I did those things I was happy with it, I thought it looked fine...now not so much. The head looks brutal, the body is absurd, the clothes are awful. NECAs one owns it, and as far as I'm concerned owns the T-800 character until Hot Toys go back and do it. The sideshow PF is very nice once bulked up though, I shall give them that.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

Wow i'm kinda surprised he is in scale with the Hot Toys Endoskeleton.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

I like the Neca. Does the gun come out of his hand?

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

In a very Hot Toys centric forum I risk being laughed out of the place but erm...does anyone else kinda sorta think that Tankman's T-800 headsculpt (not the paint) is kinda sorta better than the Hot Toys Dutch? Or is it just because Arnie looked very different in the 2 films and therefore the likenesses may appear different.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

well 2 different films you can't really compare them.

but i know that you don't have to pay upwards of $100 to get a super accurate collectible.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

Yeah, I figured that much, both are undeniably good likenesses for their particular films but I kinda think NECAs T2 head looks more like Arnie in T2 than Hot Toys Dutch head looks like Arnie in Predator. Obviously HT has the more professional paintjob, no visible seams and they didn't have the easy way out with a pair of sunglasses covering the eyes (which when painted badly can ruin an otherwise great sculpt). But when it comes time for HT to do their own T2 figure (which we're all sorta assuming they will) I think they'll have a hard time bettering this Tankman sculpt.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

i think neca 12 inch arine as t2, is the best out there ,right now

i'm inclined to agree. NECA did release T2 Arnie without sunglasses and with the minigun and the likeness was excellent from what i've seen. i didn't pick it up
