Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

i think your talking about mcfarlane's t3, t-850.w/ mini gun.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

It's not bad for a $30 toy, and it's actually sculpted fairly well. It looks pretty good on the shelf, but doesn't hold up during a close inspection. The sculpt on the face has a very rough texture, and the paint app on the face is very pasty....

On mine, the face paint wasn't completed & you can see the gray primer in the ears & on some of the wrinkles...

Overall, as I said, not a bad effort from NECA for a mass market toy, a pretty good likeness and a good sculpting job (except for the facial texture), marred by a below average paint app of the flesh areas.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

I know what you're talking about with the texture, the pastiness and the primer left in the creases. Theres also the odd seam line visible but its not too bad. And on mine I noticed the paint and sculpting texture of his lower lip isn't finished and doesn't go all the way to the edge of his mouth. Again though its not particularly noticeable.

I consider these small prices to pay for the erm..small price you pay. And when the actual sculpting is this good, the likeness and hair so dead-on accurate I can forgive the flaws we have on a figure that isn't "high-end". The Sideshow figure is embarrassing next to it quite frankly and I was happy with that figure at one point. It looks like an Action Man doll now.

The T2 Neca figure reminds me more on Schwarzenegger ( Body & Face ), more authentic & closer to the film.

The dutch overall is good but the face could be better, he looks a little youthful.... something is missing.

Good to know, even if not a full on figure like Sideshow or Hot Toys, I will have a nice T2 BD 12" figure in my collection.

Re: NECA T2 in store pics

wow those are really nice,Neca make some damn nice figures, you wouldn`t think they would cost under 30$.

Re: NECA T2 in store pics

Yeah, for what they cost, they're great, and you can build up a nice collection without losing space either.

If they ever make T-1000, I'll have a great collection of T2 figures thanks to NECA that no other company could deliver.

Re: NECA T2 in store pics

I am not a Terminator fan AT ALL,but when i checked ebay and saw the 12" ones for around 25$ each i considered to get one, damn cool piece for that price.

Re: NECA T2 in store pics

Excellent! I was hoping new NECA T2 pics would appear, thanks Maulfan.

Indeed. I'm completely happy with my 12" Pescadero - it truly embarrasses the old Sideshow one. If Hot toys don't visit the 'human' characters of T2 it won't be such a bad thing because of these figures.

Pity the battledamaged arm on the 12" is obscured in that photo though.

Re: NECA 12inch Terminator2 discussion (pics on page4)

Thanks for the pm Shakey, the minigun figure does indeed look fantastic. Hopefully when the 7" sells like crazy they'll decide to release that as a 12" too. You're right its definitely worthy of one. I tried getting my Pescadero to hold the minigun that came with the Hot Toys T1 T-800 but ended up breaking the handle off it - makes me wonder how the cyberdyne showdown figure will actually manage it because the sculpting&articulation appears to be the same...or so I've been assuming.

The BD figure looks great too, and thats definitely a 7" we're looking at this time. Looks like they've gone for the ''long arm'' version of the battledamage - remember it appeared to change lengths from scene to scene. 2 things of minor concern though - the 12" they have on display is missing the grenade bandolier and also I don't see the 2nd head for the 7".....

No problem, mate. As I said in the PM i'd love to see the minigun version in 12" form...

And i'm sure the 12" battle damage does have the bandolier, hope so anyways. I can't see why not. It'll just be inaccuracies from the display as they aren't final, probably.

Also, you're right about the 7" not having the swappable head but i'm not worrying till I see the final packaged photos.
