BTW, I do think that disc and netgun are fixed. I have the old vinyl kit, so I can raid my kit for the disc and gun if this one isn't loose. That will suck though if they don't separate.

Looks great though, regardless. I tell you what I want to see, is a production paint on that head! I hope it's in the ballpark of accurate. So much detail...
I bet they skimp....

HT's offerings are getting better and better.
My only question is about the eyes: did the P2 pred have the white around the eyes?
And the face looks a bit like lobster coloured...

Still, awesome figure and I can't wait to get one.

But, as you can see from these frames, he does have whites, although they are bloodshot...

And, just for your info...

I met Steve Wang, co-designer and chief costume painter for both P1&2, in 1995, at a model show, and he said that the Predator 2 paint design is based on fire. As if HE is the fire, and his armor is all burnt metal and burnt copper.

As for the P1...he was based on a banana. Yep. Something about it being tropical. Hey, he said it! Brown spots and all! Made sense to me!

Anyway, after I get mine, I will probably repaint him from head to toe. If he needs it.

Steve is one hell of a sculptor, too. He did some amazing garage kits back in the 90s. I still have several of 'em in both resin and pvc. Btw, he sculpted a Predator action figure years ago for some toy company which I'm pretty sure was 1:6 scale, and if I remember correctly it was based on the P1 design. Unfortunately, it was never produced, but it definitely would have been a very cool figure. I don't remember why it fell through. Maybe it was just too expensive to make back then. Too bad!

I really hope they don't, but if they must, I'd rather they skimped on the paint rather than on the weapons and details. This Pred doesn't have as much armor as the AvP Preds, so hopefully they'll make up for it by making all the weapons, etc. detachable. If not, then there will most definetely have to be some digging out of old vinyl Pred kits to raid for goodies! Hope that isn't the case, tho.

And, today....when UPS arrives...
I FINALLY GET MY HT PRED ELDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's funny. He's the last figures of the primary cast Preds from AVP that I am getting, and the one I have wanted the most. When I saw his head at Bob Burns's basement, and even Bob was all about how Elders were his faves too, I have wanted this figure.
I CANNOT WAIT! Christmas in June!

I will repaint Scar and this Elder soon, and post my movie group. Making a custom of the main girl too. Need a spear and head of course...then AVP is done for me. No ancients. Just the main cast.

Now, for P2 and those other guys! Hope they go the distance and make more from that group too. Humans too. At least King Willie! I can see a King WIllie and his bad dude entourage... "King WIllie will see you now....Wan' some gonja mon?"

Then....as we all hope....P1!

I'm hoping that the net gun and throwing disk will be removable, and a second set of sculpted hands holding the weapons will be included. Since The weapons would require special hand sculpts to hold the weapons anyways, might as well sculpt them as part of the hand and not sacrifice appearances.
