Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

From what I've seen, they actually aren't. They just look like humanoids in space suits. That's not bio-mechanical.

Looking at it again, and the mural thing, I guess it could be a suit..but still..there's other evidence that the biomechanical stuff wouldn't start with David becoming/creating the Xenomorph.

The ships/structures we've already scene..the Jockey suit. And if that's not enough, what about the other creature in the mural?

Then there's the OTHER mural that has what looks like a Xenomorph in it..

I think it's safe to say there's already plenty of biomechanical...ness before David does whatever he does.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

****s. Seriously? In an Alien movie? I love ****s as much as the next guy, but don't need them in an Alien movie.

Theron does push ups naked. They also did a take with a bandage around them for the PG-13 rating if they chose that.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Here's a theory. The goo mixes with David to become the baddie and that is where the biomech nature of the alien comes from???

Yeah thats one of the popular speculations going around. I think this would be rather interesting if done well.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

When I heard this would be an anthropocentric film, I kind of lost interest. I really wanted a completely alien film - something groundbreaking - not another horror/sci-fi blend. I hope licensees get to make nice-looking Space Jockey collectibles though.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Alien is on life support. No one wants it. It's slowly dying in it's death bed thanks to the cancer called AvP spreading through it's body.

Only the cure, Prometheus can save it. If it doesn't? Bye bye Alien.

sorry but alien was dying way before avp. it started showing symptoms of dying with alien 3, it got sick in that one and got worst by alien resurrection, avp was just the end of the disease, alien was very sick before avp. avp just brought alien to near death. :wink1:

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

I agree. But now it's like hanging by a thread.

Most people have long forgotten about Res, so AvP is the new virus that took over.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Well, after seeing the newest trailer a couple times I'm starting to think I just might see this in the theater.

I've moved from not to might just on the newest trailer. So we shall see. :lol

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

One thing that I'm curious about: if this is supposed to take place some years prior to Alien, why does all of the technology seem so much more advanced?

Maybe since it's a science team rather than a mining group they would have had pretty advanced technology anyways.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

^ Yep.

Weyland directly funding the mission, VS. a buncha blue collar tow truckers in a ____ty ship, it's obviously going to be better tech.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Sigourney Weaver was a co-producer and had final script approval on Alien 3+4. It shows.

She's not involved this time. This film has a chance at being decent.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

No one had script approval on Alien 3....:lol

There was no script. She only agreed to do it because she asked David Giler, and Walter Hill to write it, hoping it would be great. She committed to the idea of a good script.

Res...well, Res was by Whedon, which was then gutted by Junet. So, there ya go.

Love it! :lol

is funny because Alien was dead after Resurrection and AVP was what gave it life again :rotfl AVP brought it back to life
