I thought that was on the space station orbitting..Earth.

That part is a nightmare Ripley has. The meeting she has with Weyland-Yutani, the meetings in her apartment/closet (lol) with Burke and Gormon and her job are all on Earth.

I think you're mistaking that with the fact that this is 2012 and the overall graphic quality of the film is going to look much more advanced..more...shiny.

No that's obvious. But that's outside the context of the film. I'm saying within the film, there's no reasonable explanation. Which is a flaw with prequels in general.

Agreed. It's a big flaw. But Eh. I guess you could infer, that when Weyland partnered with Yutani, ____ just went down the tubes.

But that's all BS. So I don't know.

First part of the movie before Ripley agrees to go on the mission to see what's up on LV-426.

How do you know they were on Earth? Did I miss something?

Meh, I haven't seen anything yet that makes me shake my head in disappointment.

If the Prometheus is as quick and agile as a starfighter from star wars, or the crew members' suits allow them to teleport, then I'll be worried.

Me neither, again it's just a point of discussion not something that ruins the movie. Overall, it's irrelevant like most things people discuss while waiting.

Fassbender is a damn good actor. I'm looking forward to his performance. The newer David 8 video is a really greater teaser for his character.

Seeing how Ridley has treated Alien's Ash and the Bladerunner's replicants I hope David is a more heroic android.

The replicants in particular I thought were villainized in Bladerunner in a one-sided way. There was a scene written in the script (not filmed for budget reasons) involving a 5th replicant "Mary". It's a scene of Roy, Pris, Zorra and Leon sitting with Mary as she's dying in bed on her termination date. At the end of the scene the four would have cried and had a moment where the audience becomes more sympathetic to their plight. If that scene had been left in I think it would have underscored why the four were so desperate and resorted to doing the things they did.

but didn't Bishop say something about the first generation androids being more prone to "malfunction". that could be a dead give away about david.

Bishop's comment may be moot. We don't know yet if Scott will choose to honor anything outside his own film.

James Cameron and him are good friends, and he pretty much told him he needs to do this flick.

So I think it's safe to say Aliens is canon.
