Re: Prometheus Q&A (SPOILERS)

That was a great read, but I'm still not a believer in the Space Jockey Jesus thing... seems too silly.

It's going to be interesting what Ridley does to cover up the original idea being we killed space Jesus 2000 years ago that pissed off the engineers in any possible sequels. That's the last nagging question I have about the film, and it can't really be answered since it's lingering pieces of a plot tangent that Ridley abandoned. What happened to make them want to destroy us after visiting and road mapping caves? Do find out, space-bound Shaw and Fass-head!

Re: Prometheus Q&A (SPOILERS)

One thing - and probably something minor that I missed, but was it stated for a FACT that the Engineers want to destroy us, or was it a theory by the Prometheus crew? I don't remember how we found that out.

I only ask because if the Engineers created us, and sacrificed themselves to do so, I'm not 100% clear as to why they would then want to destroy us. Because we are a violent race?? That doesn't make sense. If this film is an allegory to God and religion (not wanting to start an argument here), then God created us in his own image, but despite our violent tendencies, he still would not destroy us (even if we killed his Son).

The notion of Space Jesus just seems too far fetched...

It definitely is out there. But if I was a 'space gardener' as Ridley refers the Engineers as, I'd look at humanity as one hell of a weed myself lol

David discovered via the holgram that the Engineers were setting off to earth. Why would they take a ship full of weapons to earth with the intention of not using them? I think it was just a given that the crew knew/ presumed this.

Yeah, ok makes sense.

Still, given how the Engineer had to sacrifice himself to give life to Earth, they would have to have a pretty good reason to destroy it now. Maybe they are afraid of what we can do now that are able to travel light years away, and what harm we could do to planets outside of Earth.

I think we became too powerful. Look at the way the Engineer looked and touched David; he knew man had the power to create something new.

Re: Prometheus SUPER Spoilers!

Makes the scene make more sense doesn't it.

Re: Prometheus Q&A (SPOILERS)

Going to merge the spoiler threads - sorry for the redundancies. I couldn't police them until I'd seen the film.
