That synopsis--if real--makes this a film that will totally alter everything we know about the world of Alien. Truly, truly great if indeed real and if real, the perfect way to re-energize a franchise that was pronounced dead years ago. Thank you Ridley Scott!

I've avoided reading the spoiler posted yesterday, but here is Fox's response from https://www.alienprequelnews.com/ which I tend to check most days:


Fox finally releases official Prometheus synopsis
In a move most likely prompted by the alleged story outline leak yesterday, Fox has finally released an official synopsis for Prometheus.
But don't get too excited yet. The mysterious synopsis doesn't give away much, as expected, but at least it's something official:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery.

Yeah, but I knew I could read a release from Fox without learning anything real to mess up the story for me when I experience this film first hand on it's first day out.

I'm getting that same old feeling, like when I skipped school for the day for the opening of A3 and watched it three times in one day.

I love how they keep calling it an "original science fiction epic". Ever since Fox and Ridley came out and said that it's no longer associated with the ALIEN franchise, all leaked information has been to the contrary.
