Man, I really dig how you Vader looks on that Kaustic body, King! Are those bodies any better in the articulation department? How well did those SSC wrist and ankle pegs fit onto the Kaustic joints?

I would love to see more pics, especially without the cape. As Wor-Gar said, even with the torso mod, the Sideshow Vader is still too tall and broad-shouldered to be accurate. I was hoping to eventually swap it with the one from Sideshow's V2 Vader, but there's no telling at this point how that figure will turn out.

Here's three shots in brighter lighting. And that's it! NO MORE!!!! Futzing, futzing and re-futzing is driving me crazy :lol

Anyway, as for your questions, they body is articulated pretty much the same, the head has a great range of motion with the kaustic body though. And the pegs in the gloves fit the Kuastic arms with a bit of force, the legs sit in the boots perfectly. No balance issues or anything thing. It actually stands a lot better than it did on the Sideshow body. And from the ankle joint to the knee measures the same length as the Sideshow body, so the top of the boots sit right at the knee like on the Sideshow body.

Is that a modded helmet King? or straight SS..Looks great.

Thanks for the comments everyone, much
apprecaited. :1-1:

Its a quick easy swap if you like the outcome. :)

@ Indiana Fett, its the KP-02.

Hi king, if you dont mind the stupid question...how do you take apart the vader boots and suit? I have a mint in box anh avder and dont want to break anything when doing the body swap. Thanks in advance!

The only thing I don't like about the look of the KP is that the shoulders look a bit too low. The build and size overall look amazing and I'm very impressed with the final result. But something about the slope and relation of the shoulders to the head looks off.

Still I think this might be the best mod I've seen of Vader, and I'm partial to mine :lol

Look at your own sig. Vader had sloping shoulders. Probably a result of the armor. They kind of fixed that in ESB when they had more time and money to give him a more squared-off look.

Here's two more examples:

I think Kuzeh's Vader looks amazing. This is the Hasbro dome.
Although I do like the finish on the SS dome, it's seems sharper and glossier, especially when modded, Galactiboy's looks fantastic.

I guess it's down to how discerning you are as a collector, this looks the most accurate head I have seen so far.

Thanks dude!! Simple changes but they make a huge difference...
Well, the upper body swap wasn't as simple... :lol

I don't recall the Hasbro dome looking like that.

Commtech modded it for him.

:exactly:

He did a really good job.

Yes he did!!

I put my ANH Vader on a Kaustic body a while back, I think it gives him a good height and size, without being ridicoulus like the Sideshow body.

Damn you King... now I want to transfer my Vader onto a KP body...

:lol
Looks awesome dude! :hi5:

All hail the King! After the dozens of variations I've seen here, I think that Kaustic body may be the final word on modifying Vader's body. Like Wor-Gar said, that really looks like David Prowse in that suit.

Also good to know that those joints fit nicely and still poses well. I've really lost my patience these days on all these high-end figures that cost (pardon the pun) an arm & a leg and can't stand on their own. ;-)

Thanks again, KD!

Love that, King. Now that looks like Prowse in there.

Great stuff KD!
This really looks exactly like David Prowse's build.

Thank you, sirs :1-1:

Modded Sideshow.

Its all very simple, just one piece at a time.

I think Vader is so open to interpretation because, dependent on many many factors, he can and does look so different. I don't think there is such a thing as a definitive Vader, or ever will be, even screen used costumes sometimes don't look right. Camera angles, lens distortion and lighting seem to affect Vader more than any other character. Especially when taking pics of the figure. The fact that Lucas didn't seem to have much consistency with Vader costumes in a ANH doesn't help either :slap....BLAME LUCAS!.....:lol

Of course I am biased, but I do think the Kasutic body gives the best option to date for an "accurate" Prowse ANH Vader.

Very nice! Im glad Ive seen this in time before I did any mods on mine. I have a KP body sitting around not being used. I think the chest area looks a tad big but no biggie. The height and everything else looks damn perfect. I wouldn't have even thought of it.
