The new helmet was specifically built to Hayden's head, there's shots in the BTS footage of casts around the room of Hayden's hairless head to work from, they took Vader's design and applied it to a size that would scale to Hayden so when he wore the costume people wouldn't think it was out of scale or anything and not need Prowse to wear the suit.

They still could had used the old design though, with layers of padding form fitted to his face, they could had used any design they wished, i am sure its not hard to pull off, Vaders masks hardly looks like something tailor fit to anyone..other then if you looked inside the helmet, then you would see how its made to fit.

The big difference was how it was made. They wanted to go symetrical because they had the tools to do so. They made half the mask portion, scanned it into a computer program, that program controlled a drill to make the other half, then they slapped them together. Not sure what they were, but the OT mask making methods were more crude.

Decided to try some things out tonight, was going to futz the chest box a bit and decided to see about the tunic, got it off enough to put under the chest armor, so here's a few images showing this Vader with the tunic as it was in the other 3 films.

Looks great!

Vader is going to be a dust magnet, though. With all of that black, he's definitely going in the Detolf.

Here's my display setup:

-2 Stormtroopers, behind and to the sides.
-Vader, front and center
-Tarkin to his left
-Emperor to his right.
-All in a "V" set-up, if you will.

I agree, that really sale the fig. Is he good in dynamic pose? Hopefully his on a tighter prometheus body

Vader's on a tight body, but it's a completely unique body made for Vader, taller. It was said at Comic Con that the body was a modified version of the armor body.

Looking very close to ESB Vader in those pics..actually, i think the helmet is more closer to that look then ANH.

I notice most of your pics are from a side-ish angle. Do you not like to photo him straight on cause of the dome?

Like what i'm seeing so far!

Part of it is, I don't feel like the front view photographs as well as it looks when I stare at him on my desk, so I favor shooting views that make him look as good as what I see on my desk, but also, in general, I'm more fond in the movies when you see Vader from indirect views, particularly the two pipes that lead to his tusks, they aren't as interesting to see from a straight on view.

My photos are a combination of showing the figure as nice as he looks to me on display, and just capturing him how I like seeing him, if I were shooting a Star Wars movie with Vader, the sort of camera views I'd like to see, which is how I shoot all my figures.
