And that's all that matters is if he looks good on the shelf!:vader

It's not flawless, some of the things discussed here are just there and even seeing it in person won't change it, but the figure's quality may make you care less, and it certainly doesn't look as bad as some photos would suggest.

Like this one is probably the worst one i've seen (Dome-wise, and it really doesn't look that bad) I'm sure i'll personally be more than happy when i get mine.

From MaulFan's pictures I think I like this figure even better than any of the Hot Toy's figures I own. An all around home run by Sideshow.

Well, I find that one's actually pretty faithful to how it looks seeing the figure at the same view with your own eyes.

This is a good example of one I don't feel represents him same as your eyes will see it on your shelf. The whole head and helmet seem narrow, I look at the picture and look back at my figure and can't figure why the camera makes him look that way.

I guess maybe it's how the eye work, I find if I look at him on my desk, even backing away, my focus is only on a certain section of him, I'd have to be a great distance away, beyond room length, to truly make his whole body a focal point and at that distance a lot of detail is lost.

The camera can condense it all into a space that our eyes can focus and see all at once, so it offers a view our eyes can't achieve.

Strange, cause i find that pic 10x more appealing than the one i posted.

:lol

I think this has to be my least favorite of the pics posted by MaulFan so far..looks nothing like Vader in the movie from that angle..eyes look too "happy"..if that makes sense...the rest of the pics..well, most are great and sell me on the figure.

krayt, that's the one I find least appealing as well. That's the one that looks like vader just got a haircut and is waiting for it to grow out.

Hey Maul Fan, I got to ask in this shot is the lightsaber is lit, did you photoshop this image or can you really light it up like that, please let us know because in the description it says the saber is ignited, what does sideshow mean by this: confused:

All can say if it can light up like that, WOW!, I don't think even hot toys can beat that gimmick :D also if not let's get some more close up shots of the actual saber

The saber does not actually light up. The ignited and unignited refers to the hilt with blade (ignited) and without blade (unignited). But again, the saber itself does not actually light up.

However, there are a few members who have perfected the art of actually creating sabers with a light up feature. You might want to look up the thread called "Vaderville" for more info on that.

Sorry, that's all photoshop work.

When Sideshow lists sabers as ignited, it's because every Jedi and Sith figure with a saber comes with one that's just the handle part and one with a blade coming out of it. Medicom and Hasbro use removable blades but the sabers never look as good, Sideshow chose to make nice looking sabers and pack 2 version with each figure.
