This was the first year since they've been having them that I didn't buy a kit. I knew it'd be different. Sideshow should be IMHO using their Twitter and FB to bring people to the site. Do everything there. We've already got douches on the FB page who won fantastic prizes but are complaining about not receiving it until next year and want more, I don't think that is who Sideshow was trying to attract even if they'll willingly take their cash. I participated in Spook because it was fun every year with the mad searches on the site for stuff, being able to help out here and not having to check three different FB pages, a Twitter, the site, chat as well as hitting up affliates for promo words? Its really spread too thin and I won't be really partcipating over the weekend. Its a different feel and at this point I won't even be participating in the Scavenger Hunt (one of my favorite things) for a prize I would LOVE! because I'm kind of Spook'd out to the point I don't really care anymore.

I have to agree with these sentiments. I also did not buy a kit this year and I agree that this year it's spread so thin and feels less about SS freaks.

Might hit up chat here and there but after the long week especially yesterday after all of that build up that fell kind of flat Spook is over for me. Hopefully next year's will get back to basics...and be shorter.

Quoted for truth.

And for the person that asked earlier about Ivana and her posting on Facebook. She was posting like mad the first 2 days but I think she got as bored as the rest of us and quit. :monkey2

Agreed. RIP, Spooktacular. You were a blast back in the day. Now... meh.

I feel sorry for all of you who got sucked into paying for swag (again) and even more so for those who wasted several days of their life participating online only to be disappointed.

I feel sorry for me too.

I guess, I really just bought the kit to have another $20 in reward points. But I do like the cylinder.

Honestly, the kit's a non-issue. It's schwag, but no different than last year or any other year. I see no difference between a T-shirt & mug and an Apron & water can or a T-shirt & travel mug. It's always been schwag. Saying otherwise is a strawman's argument.

Anyone figure out the word from criswell? I found the product page but it only has a red x where the word should be showing...

it felt pretty good to give away items in chat earlier in the week. So considering spook has been a bust for me, i have been feeling pretty good all week. Sometimes its nice to make other people's day. after the last few years i had, i feel like my penance is almost complete.
