Why you are incapable of judging Ayn Rand's ideas on the merits of their rationality? You determine her intelligence based on something other than her beliefs, and then use your conclusion to judge the beliefs?

Ayn Rand said something like" We are all the same under our skin, and I would skin every human alive to prove it" That is a very evil statement, and I will never support a view like that. I'm not quoting exactly, but I expect that you know the quote I am referring to if you are as familiar with her work as I have gleaned from your regard for Ayn Rand. If that is any kind of thumbnail sketch of her philosophies, SHE could have been quoted in the KOTOR games as being Sith teachings. Disturbing, most disturbing.

Cigarette tobacco is not the same as pipe tobacco. Pipe tobacco is generally natural, and less harmful than cigarette tobacco to begin with, plus pipe smokers usually smoke less, if only because it is less convenient than carrying cigarettes. Cigarettes are treated with various toxic chemicals, some of which were put in deliberately to make them more addictive, as revealed in the movie, "The Insider" with Russel Crowe and Al Pacino, which was a great movie. Also, cigarette tobacco if it is the commercial stuff, is sugar cured, which increases the carcinogenicity considerably.
Santa Fe natural tobacco is not sugar cured or treated with chemicals. I have known people who were into natural health who smoked these natural cigarettes.
At any rate, on the practical level, pipe smoking is much less harmful because the smoke is less harmful and because people generally smoke pipes less. I gather you were unaware of this information?


Also, would you not agree that it is more stupid to put something in your body that you know causes cancer versus you not knowing it causes cancer? That is the difference between smoking before 1963 and after 1963, when the Surgeon General explained that cigarettes cause cancer.

You don't need to preach to me that tabacco is bad. My dad has OCPD from smoking for 40 years, he is 59 and needs his inhaler alot more then he did a year ago. l keep telling him he will be dead in less then 10 years. So l know it isn't good for you.

Keep your opinons to yourself about smoking and drinking and saying people are dumb who do that because they aren't. Everyone knows smoking is bad, so can booze if you take in to much. Everyone knows this, so you don't need to repeat it.

I am well versed in the things she wrote, and I was not aware of that particular quote (which makes sense; the quote is not important). It does sound like exactly the kind of quote that someone who doesn't know a damned thing about anything that she ever said or wrote would hold up as some kind of example of her philosophy, for the sole purpose of smearing her work without an honest examination of what it consists.

So you have two unessential bits...smoking cigarettes and an offhand remark with zero context with which to interpret it, and you have chosen to judge the woman's entire body of work based on that. Whatever it is that you do with your mind in these situations, you need to stop pretending that it has something to do with reason.

No, you can see muscle tissue with it. It's just faint. MRI would be more clear.
