Re: <> DX12 DARK KNIGHT RISES - BATMAN - OMG Photo Review P1~2 <>

Reading this I KNOW that you are crazy. DX02 better? SERIOUSLY? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

I didn't even post that the DX 02 was better than this? :huh

That one has the weird looking PERS, the long neck, and restrictive body. I had problems with it then too, but that was 2009 and it was only their second DX figure. PERS was still new, magnet heads were still new. How many DX figures have they made now? How many Batman figures have they made now?

It also was 2009 and wasn't $250 . . .

Man... If this DX12 figure had been released three years ago you would be running in the streets screaming its praise.

Yeah, you might be right . . . but it didn't come out three years ago, did it? No. It came out today, October 5th 2012.

Things change.

I don't see what your problem is. I said the body is great, I love it (the only real improvement) but the head is crap. I dunno, the headsculpt of a figure is pretty important to me. In fact, I might even argue that it's the most important aspect of these figures.

What spoiled you so much? No HOT TOYS 1/6 figure is anywhere NEAR perfect.

Haters. :slap

Improvements and quality spoiled me. Constant price increases made me "spoiled".

I paid $170 for a brand new DX 02 Batman, got two of them. Even with the neck and PERS it was a better deal than $250 for this.

You can honestly say that you like the odd shape of the head and cowl and the ridiculous looking face plates and the googly eyes? The teethy grin? The faceplates sticking out? The odd looking neutral face? The toyish look? SERIOUSLY? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

no guarantees the parts glued on the DX12 will stay on after prolonged posing

There's no need to start calling out problems that haven't even happened yet! It could also spontaneously combust, but that isn't in your list of gripes. :panic:

Just an educated fear is all. Educated I say because with the poses, it's almost unavoidable the rubber parts will either start to peel away or crease up

Re: <> DX12 DARK KNIGHT RISES - BATMAN - OMG Photo Review P1~2 <>

but not so god as the keaton batman.

This is the biggest problem I have with this figure. HT toys spared no expenses when making the Keaton Bats. The 89 is just a perfect rendition, so good in fact, that the cowl sculpt slightly improves on the original prop. Burton era got the perfect figure representation.

With Nolan's figures there's always something. TDK/TDKR is such an intricate, unique looking batsuit, that could have looked fantastic in figure form. The cowl especialy is a very specific part, that looks mediocre when viewed in some angles, and absolutely fantastic when viewed on others. So it was important for HT to *finally* get it right. Especially since accurately sculpting a smooth artificial construct like the cowl, is relatively simple compared to achieveing the likness of an actor's face.

I am not sying its all bad. The cowl is funky, but the overall figure looks great. I guess I really believed when HT said its going to be the "most screen-acurate batman figure" yet. I wanted to put on my shelf, something that would be the equal in quality to 89 bats.

I think the fact that the Keaton Batman was so good, people expect sheer perfection when they think of a TDKR Bats.

Terrific pictures as always, OMG.

Must be tough to shoot black on black like that and have the armor pop but you do amazing work, with crystal clear photography.

Damn. Saw pics in the other thread and considered cancellation, now. . .opinion reversed.

Looks absolutely stunning. Amazing work OMG.

So to the people who think this looks like a pile of poo, will you absolutely be canceling, or buy and modify? To me, it makes no sense to keep the po if it really looks that bad to you, for the price HT is asking. $250 plus shipping, is allot of dough, for something you don't love, let alone like.

In general, OMGs pics make these things look 1000x better than they do in hand.

Re: <> DX12 DARK KNIGHT RISES - BATMAN - OMG Photo Review P1~2 <>

really? I honestly think no one's pics look better than an in-hand product no matter the figure.

Really? I've ordered about 5 or 6 figures after seeing OMGs pics and I didn't think any of them looked half as good as OMGs pics of them. lol

Personally, although I love OMG's photos and I think he does the best photographing these figures, it never beat in-hand though. His pics, as best they are still gives a superficial sense to the figure. Macro shots showing every pore is not the same experience than having it in hand.

Re: <> DX12 DARK KNIGHT RISES - BATMAN - OMG Photo Review P1~2 <>

No interest in this figure but I think it looks great!!

And I agreed figures look better in hand. For example many Nicholson Joker pictures look like crap here. It does not represent how it looks in hand, including OMG pictures. (as I own one).

Re: <> DX12 DARK KNIGHT RISES - BATMAN - OMG Photo Review P1~2 <>

Nice 'gereralization' there :wink1:

Great photos OMG, seriously considering pick in this one up as an upgrade to ol'mms 71.:)

I would highly recommend upgrading from the MMS71 to the DX12. DX12 is the superior figure compared to the MMS71 and DX02 right now. However if you already own a DX02, well its your call at that point.
