The breaks seem to be the result of a design flaw and packaging issue and nothing to do with the thickness of the casting. People want to jump all over the thin casting as the cause of all evils, seemingly to serve an agenda of hating on thin cast statues, but I can't see any evidence to support this. Looks to me like the break would be happening even if solid cast because it's a glue issue and that there is not enough protection behind the leg in package so that it is prone to bouncing around and getting the full force of any impact at a weak spot.

That said, you also shouldn't have to glue together a $550 statue. It's a bad issue no doubt and unacceptable, but I also don't see it as any reason to jump all over the casting thickness.

Totally solid XM statues would break in shipping too if they weren't packaged so well.

I think it is a design mistake though. That important of a joint should be a thicker cast and maybe even have metal pins to hold it together. Hell it might not even be a packaging issue if the glue is giving way. It may be that these things just sat to long in hot humid shipping containers while the strike was going on, and the glue gave. Like you said none of that is an excuse, but it may be something that SSC can address with replacements and the newer statues.

Yeah, the design flaw is thin casting around a susceptible joint :lecture

I don't hate on thin cast statues for the fun of it. I absolutely love my Ruffalo Cookie Jar.
I hate seeing people receive broken statues.

Fact is if his leg was solid with a peg that slotted into a solid hip these issues would be much rarer.

Yes a metal pin would be much more secure. As is evidenced by the XM Mk42 arm issue, a solid cast without a strong pin doesn't help either, hence it is not just about the thickness of the cast.

Without a peg, thicker casting would mean that leg joint would come apart even easier. More weight to be supported by the glue. No peg is the issue, not thin casting.

Call me Crazy, but I'm not accepting something I have to glue together that I paid 500 plus for.

And that's your right. I'm just saying glue coming lose doesn't = broken to ME and baring any other damage I'd glue it back together because it's just glued together to begin with. Just my opinion.

there is a peg on that bottom portion. Similar to his waist the peg is glued in. It appears that the casting in the leg is way too thin. I suspect they will improve the legs on Grey Hulk and Green Hulk.

It snapping in transit is probably due to thin casting - not glue. Glue is for support not structural integrity.

there is no peg. just 2 holes glued together

Its still attached inside the body cavity i had to smash mine. Glue is used in 3 sections

Jeez, the QC issues with this have me glad I stayed away from the rainbow Hulks. Hopefully SSC will take care of this problem before the green or grey Hulk get released.

Quick pic from my tablet. No breaks, paint flaws or any other issues. Very happy with this piece.

He's not really bigger per say. His base is a little taller than OG Hulk and from that angle OG Hulk's girth is a little hidden. They are really close to the same size.
