I thought the first was just OK, but I'm still looking forward to this sequel.

I didn't care for Pacific Rim after my first viewing, but I've really warmed up to it since then.

This one looks okay. I'm not a huge fan of how everything is streamlined and polished, but I guess it makes sense if this takes place a while after the first movie. I am a bit bummed that Charlie Hunnam isn't returning.

I didn’t get a Transformers vibe out of it, I got a giant robot fighting videogame.

Instead of Marvel vs Capcom I saw Jaegers vs Kaiju The Fate of 2 Worlds Infinite.

Transformers wishes it was like this. Actually focusing on the robots fighting and not the boring lives of humans and trying to get a date or whatever. Don’t get a transformers vibe from this at all. You can actually distinguish each robot and see them fighting.

Needs more racial stereotyped Jaegers and annoying characters that make sex jokes to make it like more like bayformers.

Plus have the robots fight in front of a large billboards with Budweiser ads in full view of the camera. :lol

Sometimes you just have to have your popcorn movies with lots of flash and paint by number plots. I liked the first Pacific Rim, and this one looks like it will be fun as well. The only thing that bugs me is why the Jaeger pilots don't have some kind of VR headsets or augmented reality helmets as opposed to just staring into a bunch of holographic controls which looks both confusing and disorientating. A VR or AR display where the pilots are viewing things from the Jaeger's perspective and orienting themselves accordingly makes a lot more sense. Sure the short answer is so that the actor's faces can be seen, but there are ways to fake that like having a semi-transparent band or virtual screen that drops down from the helmet. Oh well, it's all suspension of disbelief. That said, I was really surprised the first Pac Rim underperformed. It had giant robots fighting giant monsters, so I really thought kids would get into it. But maybe it was a bit too dour. Maybe that's why they are going with the younger cast, and seem to be lightening the tone with more colorful mechs. Maybe they should also start selling toys this holiday season to build up the hype. That's what drives the Transformers franchise.

This is gonna tank faster than you can say Blade Runner 2049

Ultraman with Tron....i will see it but it will tank

It looks incredibly cheap, I guses that's what happens when you slash the budget by $100M compared to the first films budget.

Expanded 'Pacific Rim' Universe May Be Coming Soon, Says 'Uprising' Director

Strap into your jaegers: we may be getting a whole lot more Pacific Rim content if the director of the upcoming sequel has anything to say about it. At New York Comic Con, filmmaker Steven S. DeKnight – who inherited the director’s chair from Guillermo del Toro – referred to the “Pacific Rim franchise,” and in a new interview, he explained the plan to expand this robots vs. kaiju franchise into something comparable to Star Wars and Star Trek.

Nerdist caught up with DeKnight at New York Comic Con and asked him if his use of the word “franchise” during the panel means that a Pacific Rim universe – in the form of more movies, comics, and entertainment in other media – is in the cards:

Steven S. DeKnight said:
“I’m certainly hoping so. I think you’ll definitely probably get more comics. The plan was always to use this movie as a launching pad. If enough people show up to this, we’ve already talked about the plot of the third movie, and how the end of the third movie would expand the universe to a Star Wars/Star Trek-style [franchise] where you can go in many, many different directions. You can go main canon, you can go spin-offs, you can go one-offs. Yeah, that’s the plan. And I would love to see an animated TV show based on this.”

Go go power rangers...ah I remember the Gigantor and Johnny Sock days...lol...look forward to godzilla way more than this

Trailer did nothing for me, but if they made a Transformers movie that was more or less like this I would be totally thrilled.

It would absolutely be Shin level horrific lol

Maybe add an assimilated head of a famous star or politician for the tip of his tail :thud:

All fat and gross with leather skin made out of money and non disclosure agreements lol

The face of a corrupted DA would be his nipples.

Johnny Socko, Gigantor, the Tin Man and Iron Giant > Transformers and Pacific Rim jobs

I cried when Socko’s robot friend blew up in space on his suicide mission to kill the baddie emperor Guillotine which actually rhymes with emperor palpatine lol.
