I wonder if anyone will go see this since the first one was pretty much unknown until people watched it in theaters and created a following. Or will they just wait for the blu Ray :dunno

It looks like Bayformers and has black Disney Wars lead. Logic says it's gonna be fine.

>"aggressively commercial experience"
>cringe humour
>Boyega's character tells 15 year old girl how sexy and handsome he is, also how sexy and handsome Scott Eastwood's character is
>sets up sequel at the end

In a nutshell:

Boyega elevates the movie into tolerable territory
Kaiju mostly don’t show up until the 3rd act
Action was decent
If PR1 is Independence Day then PR2 is Independence Day Resurgence (ouch)

******* it...

If the likes of Stuckmann and Jahns are s***ting on this film, given that they have fairly "low" tastes, it must truly be awful.

It is not so much that they have low taste but they tend to forgive movies a lot. they tend to seek the positive in every film.

I'm seeing this Friday night. I absolutely love the first one, saw it six times in theaters. I'm not to excited for this movie though, it looks like the influences are different, del Toro was a fan of old monster movies and it showed, Deknight has referenced Ultraman and anime as main influences which to me shows in the direction this movie took.

Hopefully I can enjoy it but we'll see.
