Brant, like I said before, mine is also affected. I also think many others are, but people aren't really noticing it.

You can clearly see how the wristband was literally rubbing against the styrofoam. I don't think it is at all unreasonable to think that could cause the paint rubs during shipping.

Mine was packaged the same way. It was the first thing I checked when I got it out. Nothing was wrong with mine (thank God) but I can see how it would rub the paint off. This styrofoam is like sand paper.

my only issue with this PF was the crappy styrofoam they used to pack it in. I wish this crumbly crap was banned by SS/China QC.

Just opened the box, again, inspected it and put it away AGAIN. One day lord, one day I will have the means to finish this room!!

I just got some strange instructions from Sideshow about my exchange. It sounds like they are going with a different return process, and I don't know if this is something they are doing just for this piece, or if this is going to be a new general policy.

The instructions tell me to return the PF body only for exchange (which I assume means that I keep the same base that I already have). I've sent an email to them to clarify this, and I'll let everyone know what I find out.

That is what I've been trying to get them to do. Surely they can crank out a couple more PZ EX bodies for replacements! I don't need a new base or hands. Just the figure itself. :banghead

Remember, good customer service is only when they make more to SELL. :monkey5

Just a quick update - my confirmed instructions for this exchange are to keep the base and the product box, and just return the body packed in the styrofoam and shipping carton.

What I find interesting is that, in the 20 or so times I've been through the replacement process before, this is the first time I've been told to handle it this way. Has anyone else seen this, or is it something new?

Bear in mind that I'm not talking about small part or minor accessory replacements. I understand that those can be handled differently. But, for example, when I had a problem with the Aragorn PF, even though it was just the hair that was broken, I had to send the entire piece back (which, of course, led to a shoddy replacement, and ultimately a refund, but that is another story ;)).

When my T-800 base came destroyed, they had me switch out just the base. I know that's a little different from just a figure, but that base was pretty big.

I think it's safer that they are having you handle it this way; the chances are greater that you will actually get one back!

:lol They don't need the base. They're just gonna swap it out with one of the sculpts from the Int. Ex. :p

Well, if they swapped it for a domestic exclusive sculpt I sure wouldn't complain! :lol

No such thing. Remember, the Exclusive Edition was open to orders worldwide and the International Exclusive was only offered to International distributors. No exclusive loving for us loyal SS customers at home. :(

:rotfl

I was hoping you would notice that one!

BTW, my "body-only" package is on its way back to Sideshow. Now I have an empty base (complete with bloody floor drain!), and a cool-looking cardboard box.

And the wait begins...

Again.

With all this "best customer service ever!!!!111" talk all the time, why does it take almost a week for someone to get back to you (and then the same amount of wait time every time you respond to them), and weeks for replacements (if they decide your piece is worthy enough of one)?

I mean, they're really polite to you when you call in, but otherwise I've had better cs experiences from many, many other retailers. I think they really need to start thinking about making sure everyone who orders a piece will have the opportunity to get one without any defects or issues.
