If you think this guy acted like a mature adult I will pray for you.

No, he didn't, but I also don't blame the guy. Clearly he's had issues before with his daughter and her complete lack of respect. I think he got pissed and reacted. It was immature, but sometimes you just react.

I'm not one of these "reason with your kids" types. I think all the psycho babble BS is just ridiculous. He could have handled it differently, BUT as this wasn't the first time......and probably not even the 10th time he's dealt with this, I don't really blame the guy.

If I was going to destroy something - I think I would choose a baseball bat as my choice of weapon. Little risk of hurting myself and it seems like it would be more cathartic.

Well, he seems like one of those people who looks for any reason to shoot something. Me, I'd have used a sledge hammer, or even got a friend to wipe her hard drive clean and let her find out the hard way.

Clearly the guys daughter has issues because she learned it by watching her father be an immature ass. So she now thinks its okay to act like one herself.

Being a new dad there is no "everybody wins" mentality in my house. There never will be. That said I will never use one of my firearms to destroy one of my daughters toys because I can't control her.

Lotta things a teenage daughter can do to a man. A sensible man, a proud man.

(walk a mile in someones shoes?)

Kids today ARE soft. This is nothing compared to how kids have been disciplined for ages. And most have turned out to be decent people. As long as he's not beating her, taking a belt to her, and god knows what else...HIS HOUSE HIS RULES.

(Don't give me any of the verbal abuse stuff either as i doubt that's the case here)

None of us know the whole dealio, maybe he's a douche, maybe she deserved it. Either way entertaining vid.

Well more news is surfacing. Apparently she had only lived with him for 5 months. Also the police and child protective services both paid him a visit.

And kids today are very soft. Thanks to the "everybody wins" mentality. My daughter is going to learn that everybody doesn't win. You have to earn the victory (whether its a test, sports, or making the righ decisions).

Parents, teachers, and coaches for some reason try to prevent kids from failing. This creates a false sense of entitlement.

That said this guy is still a wacko. :cuckoo:

Yes, you can't play kickball anymore, and overweight children are coddled in P.E. instead of being forced to get fit, like it used to be. They have relaxed the standards of success and acceptable conduct for children today. It spoils them.

Has it been mentioned why she was living with him again?? Not to make excuses, but if she was living with her mom before this she possibly had the same pattern of behavior there.

I don't think so. I don't see why it matters. The father should be mature enough to deal with her behavior in an adult manner.

Hey Keith when your daughter becomes a teenager and you catch her boyfriend sneaking into her bedroom at night are you going to kick the ____ outta him or are you gonna sit him down and have an adult conversation with him about safe sex?:pfft:

That is completely different. I fail to see the comparision between a bad attitude and your provided scenerio. :dunno

It could matter in the sense of tracking down a history of why she's acting out, and the possibility with lack of proper parenting from both biological parents. Parents separate/divorce, teenagers acting a fool, looking for the answer to their behavior. Seems like all parties involved need to sit down with a Counselor. From the dad's approach to taking care of business I'd doubt either parent was there for proper upbringing.

Exactly. :exactly:

Ah, Participation Trophies...the downfall of hard work leads to success.
