Excellent pick-up, Chris! That's one great monitor, and you seriously can't go wrong with Asus.

I'm currently using an old Asus VS247H 60 Hz monitor, but, I'm planning to upgrade to a 1440p display later this year, or sometime next year.

You can, I have the Asus VG278HE, cost me a fortune when I got it. The 144hz is nice, but the colours are weak, the bezel is shinier than the sun and the light bleed at times is impressively bad. The reviews for it were good which is why I spent so much on it a couple of years back but I've never been happy with it. I'm on the market for a new one, I've almost picked up the Rog Swift a few times now, but for the money I'm holding out, especially now we're starting to see the introduction of IPS panels with much faster response times etc, I've only ever had TN panels and fancy a change and an upgrade from 1920x1080.

Using one now and LOVE it. Sure it's not IPS but it is pretty close in picture quality if you use something like Nvidia Control Panel to adjust the picture.

Once you go 1440p you can't go back..especially at 120 hz+.

It's strange, what you're describing is exactly the same with my 60 Hz monitor :lol. But, I always chalked it up to the limitations of the technology, rather than it being specifically Asus' fault. All LED/LCD monitors have some degree of light bleeding, and the colors and contrast on the display that I'm currently using, are much weaker than than my 60 inch DLP television, by comparison.

For what it is, I think I have a "good" monitor, and at least, it gets the job done when gaming. But, everything considered, I really do need a monitor upgrade, myself.

I learned to take my time and choose carefully in future rather than just settle for a trusted brand. My old IIyama monitor was much better than my current one, and being 24" and 1920 it had sharper details, but that is unavoidable I guess without upping the resolution. It only lacked the 144HZ, and having used that for a few years now, I wouldn't want to be without it.

I'm curious to see how far my Asus 770 GTX can carry me on 1440p. I might upgrade it, if I feel I don't get the performance I need. But I'm expecting G-Sync to help me out here.

Thanks! Yea, I've always been very happy about Asus. Whenever I build a new PC, I often go with Asus mobo and gpu. I had an Asus 27" previously too, but I sold it along with my old PC. I figured I wanted to go bigger, and when moving up to (or in my case, back to) 27 inches, I don't see the point of 1080p. So time to go 1440p. :)

144 Hz is fantastic. I could never game from a 60 Hz again.

TN-panels have come a really long way. For gaming, I'd still go with TN. IPS is beautiful, and I'd never use anything else for work. I got an iMac 27" standing next to my PC, and I use that for most work today.

Using one now and LOVE it. Sure it's not IPS but it is pretty close in picture quality if you use something like Nvidia Control Panel to adjust the picture.

Nice! Yea, I love 1440p on my iMac, and I can't wait to have it on my main machine. I love my iMac, but it feels slow and cumbersome to use at times. The silly magic mouse doesn't make things better. Whenever I'm lazy, and just want to get things done quick, I use my PC. Like making quick photo posts on my Facebook etc. It may sound strange, but that's my experience from years of experience now. :)

Thats a nice monitor :clap I mean very nice ME WANTS 3!!!!! :google

Hehe, I actually intended to go with the BenQ XL2430T, but then I cancelled it, and ordered the Asus instead. I want to feel a real change, and not just a replacement.

So it arrived. Plugged it in, and everything is perfect! I run WoW and BF4 in 1440p smooth with no frame drops thanks to G-Sync. That's on a 770 GTX. Couldn't be more happy! Just the fact that my main computer now runs at 2560x1440 is just awesome.

By the way, I've got an Asus 144hz monitor (different one) and the refresh rate changes the colors, so be aware that can be an issue. On mine the colors are more accurate at 120hz

That's strange. I think you should be able to calibrate the colors properly regardless of refresh rate...

@Chris: Those are some good frame-rates with just a single 770!

I thought about getting a second one but all i use the second monitor for is surfing the net or a movie while I game on the other one so I got a cheap IPS 27" 1440p monitor for the second monitor since i wouldn't be using it enough to justify the cost of another Swift.

Yep, sweet set up.

Everyone should post pics of their set up. I'd love to see how every does things.

Here goes. Being in a tiny, single bedroom apartment in NY, I think I have the ghettoest room set-up, ever :lol. There's no way I can get a bigger desk for a multi-monitor display, with the limited space I have. And my Fractal Design Define R4 is forever on the carpet with two hard pieces of cardboard to prop up the feet. I also didn't remove the front plastic covering on the R4, just out of caution, in case I accidentally kicked the case or anything (wouldn't want any scratches).

As for the other things:

I'm using a Das Keybaoard 4 Professional with Cherry MX Blue switches, and a weighted mouse from Sentey.

I also have two Astro A50s. One is dedicated for my PC, and the other one I use for my PS3 in the living room.

I also play my PC games with a DS4 controller. Don't judge me!! >____>
