Sad to. green lantern could of been the iron man for DC but sadly no. Instead we got Ryan Reynolds vs satan's diarrhea

Yes DC had nothing but quality until Green Lantern came along.

I was stuck in a hospital room for most of the weekend, and Man of Steel was one of the few movies available. So, I started watching it, and got about 2/3 of the way through. None of it changed my existing opinion, and in fact, I recognized more deficiencies in the acting department, and the fact that things felt so staged and superficial. Made me more depressed about the Superman/Batman movie :(

Having said that, I stopped right before the big action scenes, which is the real strength of the movie. I wouldn't advise folks to watch a Zach Snyder joint and skip out on the action scenes.

Guess Mos ruined the whole Marvel has quantity and Dc has quality argument.
The only way you can make this argument is if you restrict DC to the Nolan films and. . .what? Maybe '89 Batman/Batman Returns and Superman/Superman II? Everything else is at least up for debate, particularly if you're comparing it to Marvel. Swamp Thing, Supergirl, Schumacher, Superman Returns, Green Lantern, Jonah Hex.

Just always saw that argument being thrown around on multiple comment sections and forums and I'm always like "no". I only like two of Nolan's bat movies, superman movies are good, the first two burton movies are also very good but the others they made have been bad. First time I fell asleep in a movie theater was in superman returns. Ugh!

Yeah, Superman III, IV, Returns, and Batman Forever, Robin, Jonah Hex, Constantine, GL. Lots of mediocre or outright bad DC films.

Every DC movie is bad and or mediocre when you think about it.

- Superman: The Movie (cheesy, non-relevant, spins the world back BS)
- Superman II (Donner was cut out, final film blows with too much tongue and cheek humor, Superman boffed Lois, the kiss, orange juice)

- Superman III (Gus Gorman)
- Superman IV (nuff said)

- Batman 1989 (overrated, more of a cultural phenomenon than a good movie)
- Batman Returns (evil, gross, sexual and weird, what's that black bile **** coming out of the Penguin's mouth?!?)

- Batman Forever (Saturday Night live on acid and crack with a heavy dose of gay)
- Batman and Robin (big budget toy commercial that takes the above up a couple of notches)

- Catwoman (Lol)
- Batman Begins (bad third act, movie goes down hill once he actually becomes Batman)

- Superman Returns (BORED, ambient inducing)
- The Dark Knight (overrated, more of an obsession with a posthumous performance than a good movie)

- Watchmen (too long, too into itself, caters to only the graphic novel reading nerd demograph that still complains cuz "omg, no giant octopus")
- Green Lantern (I don't remember much because I fell asleep, but people say it's bad so I believe them)

- TDKR (pretentious, bloated with a sloppy screenplay)
- MoS (bleak, morally/ethically grey, makes me want to commit suicide)

I've never seen Steel or Jonah Hex so those could be good, yeah?

I forgot about Catwoman, Steel, and Watchmen. :lol

So yeah, suddenly DC's track record is dubious indeed.

They've basically got, STM, SII, B89, BB, and TDK as movies where the overwhelming opinion is that they are good or great. That's just five! All other movies are either polarizing right down the middle or heavily in the "it sucks" camp. I didn't realize how much Marvel has been kicking DC's ass over the past two decades now. Since 1989 there's literally just been BB and TDK that have won over the majority of viewers.

Watchmen shouldn't really be in that list. it is not a typical superhero movie and it was never going to win summer blockbuster audiences.

Like V For Vendetta, I know watchmen deals with super heroes but not really. those two are they own thing.

GTFO of here, you.

Batman sounds retarded. Begins has a crappy, cliched third act and the CGI blend in the Narrows looks like poo (especially when that haze comes in). If Dark Knight didn't have Heath Ledger Joker, it might very well be crappy like TDKR except less gratuitous.

Fabio didn't mention Supergirl, either, because it's awesomeness completely undercuts his argument.

DAMN IT.

How could I forget. Them Salkinds really knew their stuff.

Produced by Warner Bros. owned by DC, feature masked comic book heroes and references to other DC comics (like Batman).

It's on the list.

ASM 2 for me. While I liked TDKR when it first came out... It did not hold up well to repeat viewings...

MOS is crap to me... I thought I might enjoy it more the 2nd time I watched it since I was so let down the first time... But I disliked it more. Most bland major SH movie ever.

I have a few issues with ASM2 but overall it was a lot of fun and by far the best version of Spidey himself on screen.

Marvel movies that most people like:

Blade (1998)
X-Men (2000)
Spider-Man (2002)
X2: X-Men United (2003)
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Iron Man (2008)
X-Men: First Class (2011)
Thor (2011)
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
The Avengers (2012)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

DC movies that most people like:

Superman: The Movie (1978)
Superman II (1980)
Batman (1989)
Batman Begins (2005)
The Dark Knight (2008)

Marvel: 11
DC: 5

Damn.

Good list there, Khev, except for First Avenger, which is only enjoyed by fan boys with blinders on.

Seriously though, Blade 2 is generally considered on par with, if not better than Blade.

What about The Wolverine? I don't remember too many people *****ing about it last summer. The only gripe seemed to be the Silver Samurai bic boi which was just the usual comic book film third act problem.
