Something doesn't sit well about Barbossa going legit of sorts, I hope that's elaborated on because superficially, it just doesn't fit the character.

I would agree. Very interesting things going on here.

I would say Ian is right up there with Cruze as to the size of the role.

I've never seen these movies, saw the end of the first one on TV and it looked stupid to me, but are you telling me Ian McShane is in this one? Does he have a large role?

The first movie is amazing.

yeah hopefully she doesn't even have that big of a role as Elizabeth. Cruz is pregnant during the filming, so if shes in fight scenes, and having her fall to the ground over and over they would probably use a stunt double for her. which l hope they don't do because you can usually tell. so hopefully she doesn't have a huge role the action parts of the movie.

Pregnant or not, I'm sure she'd have a double for stunts, she doesn't strike as someone willing to beat her body up for the sake of a movie. Knightley seems a bit tom boyish and willing to get right into the action.

well, her being in the movie ruins it for me. l will be watching and saying l have already seen her and Depp in Blow, so that will take away from the realism for me. l will constantly be reminded this is just a movie because l have seen these two together already.

They mentioned She will only doing the close up shots and from the waist up. Her sister is supposed to be handling the distance shots..not sure about the stunts.. :?

I can't help but wonder, with her pregnant and needing such accommodations, why even cast her, it's not like she's something so special you couldn't get someone else for the part.

Maybe Johnny wanted her for the part..and she came at the right price. She also has a recognizable name...so I can see why they would cast her...but there indeed could have been others more..able ?

There must have been some good reasons I'm sure though.

Casting a pregnant woman in an action movie doesn't seem like the best idea. Casting a pregnant woman in any movie where she's not supposed to be pregnant seems like a dumb idea too.

I'm pretty sure she booked the role before she found out she was pregnant. Not a big deal, she doesn't look heavily pregnant from any of the set photos (at least not from the chest up)

Cruz was casted before being pregnant, from what I've read the producers felt it easier to work around her then to go through casting again to fill the role which apparently included readings, test shots and fittings.
