I love seeing playsets like this. It takes me back to the SW Kenner days.

I really wanted a super detailed Queen Anne's Revenge..but I guess I'll be getting this one and doing a LOT of custom work to it...lol

When I first saw this pic and compared it to the Zizzle Black Pearl I was disappointed in the size..especially if those were the 4" figures on the deck ..but on closer inspection that smaller figure of Blackbeard in the back gives more me hope.

I'm still hoping Neca releases their own figures..but judging by all the scales here I'd guess they gave up on this license. :?

I wonder what he thinks of that figure. He seems the type that could go either way. He could think "this is awesome" or "meh, who cares its a kids toy." Actors just don't seem to get the honor it is being made into a figure like we would :lol

I know! I'd be nothing but smiles. He looks like he enjoys the fact though.

Seeing those just makes me think how awesome HT offerings are going to be.....

May 20th right is when this comes out?

I don't know Mike. The last set of figures HT made for POTC kind of sucked IMO. Had them all and was not impressed what so ever.

I'm hopeful that like the other "enduring" lines that HT has had which have had a lot of progression that this line will be no different. I love my Iron Man figures but one can't deny that the Mark III by comparison to the Mark IV is almost night and day.

At bare minimum I'm in for a Jack DX and a Blackbeard.

I am curious to see the level these jump like the Iron Man figures. If its good enough I might go for Jack.

Then i'll pass, cuz those figures are ____ing hidious. Why do crappy toy makers get these licenses? Most of SpinMaster's Tron stuff is overpriced garbage.

Hasbro is still the best mass market toy maker around. Mattel is good, but Hasbro's Star Wars line is pretty amazing for their size.

NECA has said they do not have the license.

Do you have a reference for that ? I'd like to post it on another forum.

It's a real shame they don't..but I had feeling seeing all the diff figure sizes and types Jakks is doing.

Their figures don't look too bad so far..just a little too clean. That can be fixed by a handy customizer though.

I really want that large Blackbeard figure Ian is holding it looks great :

Sculpts aren't an issue with JAKKS, I was really surprised and impressed with the Rocky figures, but their paint is plain, kids toy level, solid colors, basic eye paint jobs, not a realistic finish like a McFarlane or NECA would strive for.

Maybe zombie pirates? I for one think the toys are fine. They're for kids and I thin the detail is suitable. The HT stuff will be for us big boys.

Don't care for Blackbeard's crew being zombies, but the burning his victims alive and using their bones for decoration is badassery like I expect from Blackbeard.
